Another difference from past years is that Frost was visibly upset in the post-game interviews. It's obvious how competitive he is and how badly he wants to win. That was barely evident in the previous coaching staff.
lets hope frost uses it for self improvement. The staff needs it.

He's our guy. However, Frost did not have this team fully prepared. The lack of discipline was quite apparent throughout the game. This loss was 80 percent on Frost. At least he sees this. Hopefully it will improve.

Frost knows we gave a game away that we should have won by at least a couple TDs. You don't own the LOS scrimmage on both sides like we did today and lose the game. It just shouldn't happen. But every time we were poised to take the game over...yet another self-inflicted mistake. It literally happened over and over.

I disagree. I said in a different post that this game worried me. CU had that first game and we did not. That is huge whether or not we want to admit it. Most of our turnovers were caused by our true Freshman QB starting his first game. And I wonder if Morgan and Spielman drop those passes if this were game two. Ditto with some of the penalties. Yeah, we looked ragged at times. That is often what you get in first games. And despite the score, our defense showed clear signs of improvement over last year. Just in the QB sacks alone I saw great hope.

I am not upset either at the clock management. We were ahead by one stupid point. And CU's offense had big play potential no matter how much time we left them. Frost was running our up tempo offense late in the game because he wanted to be aggressive and score points to put it away. Play conservative and you go away from the offense that generated damn near 600 yards. He wanted to put the dagger in CU and I commend him for it. And if Spielman catches that perfectly thrown ball from Bunch we would have won that game.

Here were my three biggest disappointments from the game:
1. We generated zero turnovers despite all of the emphasis on that during camp.
2. Reed's penalty was legit and beyond stupid. A real boneheaded play.
3. Martinez's injury. If he is out for the season we had better put armor on Bunch

Frost was just as he should be after the game, so were the players. Did you see any complaceny from anyone over that game? It was their first game. They played like it. We started a freshman QB. He played like it. Peiple made mistakes, get thr f—- over it.

They held a team to 50 yards rushing, they had 7 sacks, 2 rushers for over 100. 250 yd rushing and 400 total in the 1st half alone.

Im excited for the future...our QB, our defensive aggressiveness....I loved it

That first game hurt and he knows it.....Otherwise play conference games then only.

His team lost because they were not in game shape. It showed early 3rd qtr....Colorado looked fresher to me. You only get in shape for games by playing in games.

Enjoy the season.....I just hope for a bowl game. More hard play I saw every game.

I didn’t watch his post game presser on tv, I heard it in the radio, and wow when you could only hear the voice you could tell he was upset.

to paraphrase Frost- we gave the game away and that isn't OK - he was pissed

that feeling is echoed by some of us here

that's the right approach to take the the game. Any time you run for that many yards against a power 5 team (or any team) you should win

These posts are so stupid. Yes the national coach of the year just can’t coach football.

the 2016 national coach of the year was on the other sideline yesterday and after his team got dominated in the first half made adjustments that led to a win despite not having the better team

The dropped balls were killers. But two other things struck me last night:

1) we kept letting #2 beat us?
2) I switched to the Clemson/A&M game after ours and suddenly there was a stunning increase in the amount of athleticism on the screen. (except for CU #2)

The adjustment of having Stan drop a TD to ice the game, JD drop of first down to ice the game and Reed commit a ridiculous penalty to keep CU alive. Mac is a good football coach, but it’s not like he out coached anyone. We just made some painful first game mistakes.

245 rushing the first half
84 the second

We allowed the game to stay close enough where players wilting at a couple of key moments could cost us the game

Looks like Colorado made adjustments at halftime on both sides of the ball. Don't forget that Nebraska only scored 7 points in the 2nd half.

As hard as this is to say...Colorado does deserve some credit and maybe Nebraska was out coached in the second half. :(

I’m sorry for showing my bias, but even with the loss, it feels entirely different from the Callahan, Pelini, and Riley eras.

It sucks to lose, and I was frustrated for quite a while. At the same time, a strange, fuzzy feeling swept over me, with the knowlege of Frost being our head coach. That, or it was the whisky...

Yep we rushed for 300 and held them to 44 yards. We win this game 9of 10 imo. I was very encouraged with the level of effort and the offense in general - I am just hoping Martinez is not out for the year

Players' attitudes are completely different in the postgame interviews and reflects Frost. Farmer looked like he'd been crying. Last couple years they were goofing around and laughing on the sideline while we were getting destroyed on the field.

Things have definitely changed for the better and if people don't see that I don't know what to tell them.

I don't think Frost committed any turnovers, dropped a TD pass, or dropped a first down pass that would have sealed the deal.

NOBODY feels worse after losing than the players and coaches, it was a bummed out atmosphere all around.

I did a Google/Bing/Yahoo search right after Riley was hired. Winking
