My point was run whatever offense you want...you need to be able to shut down the run...if you don't...good luck. Not sure why after 2-3 coaches it never sunk in.
2 coaches. Pelini ran a 4-3 that was built for B12 types which were speedy type up tempo offenses. He recruited at the breakneck speed of crap rolling up hill to complete the transition.
Then we got this last ninja surprise hiring job and ended up with a .500, almost getting fired on the downward slope coach whom brought his tired old defense and then fired him and hired this 3-4 Diaco guy, who just got fired himself, in which I'm not so sure the coaches under him knew how to run.....very well that is. As far as I could tell Diaco was trying to teach his D coaches how to coach the D AND coach the players.
...and they must have been communicating with cups and string because all I noticed was Nebraska getting boat raced on the ground by teams with virtually no run game.
So really I'm not in disagreement with you. I'm pretty sure we know what worked post 2004 in the B12 will not work in the B10 now.
