whether it’s keeping one of our current commits on board or bringing in a guy we didn’t see coming, who is everyone’s prediction for the first “wow” commit under Coach Frost*?

*assuming he is indeed our coach

His track record says a 3 star. His recruiting ground is Neb - let that sink in. I don’t believe there will be much from Flo.

You’re probably right. Even though Nebraska pulls recruits from all over the nation, if SF is the coach, he most definitely will only recruit from the state, since that is his recruiting ground...

Whomever your next coach is needs too commit to what it really takes to compete and win in the Big Ten Conference...you guys have been so wrapped up in your own history that you never adapted to your current reality...you still operate like you are in the big 8/12...and that isn't going to work out for you.

If its Scott Frost coming I'm sure he'll adapt his player profile as need be to make it through. His offense is very similar to Ohio/Penn St.

Nebraska from the Big 8 days would kill it in the B10 dude maybe that was the wrong time period for your comparison?

Wisky is pretty close to the old NU minus a good mobile QB. And no one with 4 star players is running a power set with option mixed in now a days. I'm pretty sure Nebraska a la 80s and 90s would smoke the B10 West with the bodies like NU had.

My point was run whatever offense you want...you need to be able to shut down the run...if you don't...good luck. Not sure why after 2-3 coaches it never sunk in.

You’d think Melvin Gordon in 2012 would have made that clear.

Actually, maybe you're not aware, but we are allowed to recruit in other states, if my memory serves me correct. Check this, or any years, roster to double check though but I think I am right...

2 coaches. Pelini ran a 4-3 that was built for B12 types which were speedy type up tempo offenses. He recruited at the breakneck speed of crap rolling up hill to complete the transition.

Then we got this last ninja surprise hiring job and ended up with a .500, almost getting fired on the downward slope coach whom brought his tired old defense and then fired him and hired this 3-4 Diaco guy, who just got fired himself, in which I'm not so sure the coaches under him knew how to run.....very well that is. As far as I could tell Diaco was trying to teach his D coaches how to coach the D AND coach the players.

...and they must have been communicating with cups and string because all I noticed was Nebraska getting boat raced on the ground by teams with virtually no run game.

So really I'm not in disagreement with you. I'm pretty sure we know what worked post 2004 in the B12 will not work in the B10 now.

But yet nobody with stroke on your end has figured it out in the last decade plus...

I say he reels Bookie back in. Maybe Parsons? Can't see why some of these top guys wouldn't want to play for the hottest coach out there right now.

Decade plus? We haven't been in the big ten for what 5 years?
I overshot that, seems like you've been in the league for a few decades...you were brought in to help the league's football profile and really haven't...

Bit of an obnoxious Hawkeye troll aren’t you Pezhawk? All spewing forth and everyone ignoring you.
Didn't intend to be obnoxious, visited your board after the last several iowa/neb games and never posted out of respect to not rub it in...but it's always been so obvious for the rest of the league...and everyone is ignoring me save you...kudos.

Deliver Frost...then we will talk...start kicking our *** in the same universe Iowa has done to you fine folks...and I'll give you your due...honestly I don't see him as your answer...Pac 10/12 meet big ten 10/12...after the last few years...miracles will need to happen to make anyone your b___tch...you folks have some work to do, and many here don't comprehend the extent...again not trying to be an ***, but figure the defense out first, that wins you games in this league, long-term.
