From a friend connected in the athletic department:

- As of right now there are zero plans to relieve Shane Beamer of his duties, and barring something unheard of will be back as our head coach in 2027.

- His buyout is $28 mil which can be upwards of $30-50 mil when all said and done also having to buy out assistant coaches and support staff.

- NIL / PORTAL: Afraid of having to run a massive roster retention war chest so half of the team doesn’t enter the portal overnight.

- Paranoia and bad taste in the BOT and AD from previous coaching hire blunders. They’re deathly afraid of another Will Muschamp or top candidates using us as leverage for a better contract where they currently are / spurring us. They are still haunted by his massive buy out and watching him walk away with millions while leaving the roster completely depleted.

- Also what they like is that Shane Beamer has a genuine culture and administrative alignment, something Muschamp never had. He is visibly proud to coach the gamecocks and not looking for an NFL or other job.

- So barring a complete locker room revolt or catastrophic collapse meaning the majority of the team hits the portal, the logic of the BOT and athletic department right now is “Why throw $30M+ at an unknown gamble when you can pour those exact resources into Beamer's roster, NIL infrastructure, and staff pool to fix the engine directly?”

Take this as what you will but I believe this with strong accuracy.

So if you’re in the “FIRE BEAMER” yesterday camp, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen anytime soon.

No.

I reject this. - Beamer must be fired. - Reading between your lines, what you're explaining is that the BOT doesn't want to pony up the cash that those idiots set forth to begin with. OH, F'N WELL!!!! - Good..... maybe, just maybe being forced to rub their own faces in their own pile of crap that THEY CREATED... will make them shape up and get it together for once and make a good hire/s.

Sounds to me like they're happy making the fans suffer, as long as the blame doesn't come back to them. I'm sorry, the blame is 100% on them and they all should be removed from the BOT as being incompetent idiots. It's 3:52am, I haven't had a drop to drink, and I'm absolutely furious.

I want somebody's head and a** on a platter. (non-violently, of course) (sad I have to put that in there for context)

Rewarding losing. His job at the end of the day is winning games. I guess this administration doesn't care about a winning culture (that's been evident for a long time) if what you say is true and I guess risking losing the fanbase is worth it. No point in renovating the stadium. Seriously, what if we lose out? Is this administration going to send the message that "Shane is our man for life-win or lose"? Imagine the loud boos on tv each week for home games Shane remains employed. Is that the image this administration wants to project? Weak and defeated mentality if true.

I don’t want to fire him. I want all the loses from this year to be on his resume. He earned it! He is worse than Muschamp. You only as good as your record! The. players take on the personality of the coach.

Sure, Shane has an "administrative alignment". All are filthy rich losers. Why is keeping the roster intact such a legit concern if we continue to lose games? Worthless admistration.

What I’m hearing is the same old thing again and again while expecting a different outcome. Tanner hired an inexperienced position coach to replace and already twice failed head coach at a large SEC football program. Now we are stuck with a guy who cannot do basic coaching things like clock management. And apparently none of his assistant coaches can or will step up and manage the game.

How many players is Shane away from having a good roster? Seems OL & RBs are solid.
The whole O line except 1 are seniors so that has t be rebuilt as well as D line and the secondary is awful. This was supposed to be the year, rebuild again next year.

So, unamed sources say we should throw more money at the staff to "fix the engine directly" bahahaha! Your sources are delusional. Nothing is getting fixed with Beamer in charge.

Let me state that I am not challenging the veracity of your post. It all sounds completely plausible.

Let me address the point of the BOT paranoia concerning the hire of Muschamp and bad hires. As we are all painfully aware the past 2 hires are from a retired AD. Is the takeaway that they do not have any confidence in our current AD to make a good hire ?
The other point, they genially like him ? I can't fathom that any other boardroom retaining an under performing CEO (HC) because they like him. This is nothing short of corporate malpractice.
They are correct in their assessment. Beamer is not searching for a NFL job.
The buyout is an issue, but more and more it is becoming evident, an issue that wil have to be addressed sooner than later.

Also if the admin is concerned about the entire team leaving for the portal, that means we have $30M+ to build a new one. The club membership will decline along with booster funding if the admin makes no changes-which translates to blatantly accepting failure. Look for dead looking home games next season if we retain Shane. No need for renovations. The fans that show will wear paper bags over their heads. Great look for the school if that were to happen.

Beamer genuinely happy to coach the Gamecocks and not looking for an NFL or other job? This can’t be a serious statement.
1. Of course he loves being at Carolina. He is unqualified for the job and we were the only team stupid enough to hire a TE coach as a head coach because of vibes.

2. Take another job? Who the f would hire him?

3. I posted that we should get rid of the football program. I was only partially kidding. This sport as currently constituted should not be subsidized by state educational institutions any more. It has literally become a professional sport and is on the verge of bankrupting schools. Look at how many athletic departments are in the red. All schools should jettison their football programs, or have an affiliate relationship with them and have the SEC and Big 10 form a pre NFL professional league. Anyone who thinks thinks that this economic model is sustainable is fooling themselves. Let us not pretend that many of our athletes are students. Some are and some are great students, but that is the exception, not the rule.

This sounds like typical Carolina athletics and for all those that show up on Saturday, quit showing up. You deserve better. When financials are affected, change happens.

Make a call to Pete Lembo at Buffalo and collect on some of that loyalty Beamer has been handing out.

Vidalia, you are absolutely correct, this financial model is unsustainable. With these insane salaries/buyouts, and the arms race with facilities, then combined with the NIL. This level of college football has simply become crazy. Furthermore, I think it is absolutely ridiculous the football stadium is being renovated when it was perfectly fine as it was, regardless of the fact our football program is entirely mediocre at best.

The model is fully sustainable. USC has over a billion that they just sit on in endowment funding just like most of the other schools. They just have to pay players now to provide their fans/students a Saturday show. Drop in the bucket.

While this may be a very unpopular idea, but if you do not enjoy following the football program anymore (which is very understandable), but still want to follow the Gamecocks, switch to a different program, one that you might enjoy much more and support that program financially. I attended the game yesterday, sadly throughout the entire game I thought we would find a way to lose. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, that is the measure of my confidence in Shane Beamer.
