Looking at the West Virginia Mountaineers schedule as football season approaches, I think it would be great for Marshall and WVU to start each season as opponents instead of WVU scheduling a subdivision opponent.

And for fan base and regional concerns, the East Carolina game also could be a mainstay each year.

And as with the Virginia Tech game this season, for future schedules, North Carolina State would be a great matchup from year to year. This slot could be an alternating opening to bring teams like the Pittsburgh Panthers, Tennessee Volunteers, Kentucky Wildcats or even the Seminoles of Florida State.

If a 13th game could be added to the schedule each season, how about a matchup with Notre Dame?

As for conference alignments and bowl games, I think the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida, could became what the Rose Bowl is to the West Coast.

The Gator Bowl could be aligned with the Big Twelve and PAC Twelve conferences, depending on school standings at the end of the season and the playoffs for the championship game.

This could bring matchups such as University of Southern California or UCLA versus WVU or North Carolina State.

As always, I am a college football fan and a Mountaineer fan.

No problem playing Mini U every year as long as it is in Morgantown, just as a subdivision school would be.

Still dredging this tired take up?
That article is from march 2015.
Get over it. The game does nothing for wvu as has been pointed out many times already.

I actually thought this was from a writer at the Gazette Mail. It's from a reader. I don't even get or read a newspaper anymore except on rare occasions, and this is a prime reason as to why.

If I could get this Delaware St/ James Madison/ Liberty type junk off my ticket package that would be a fantastic start...pipe dream it seems....
Those teams are in the same category....For as much money that fans pay out, I wish P5 would play just P5.
