Viewership was pretty abysmal in 2023 (especially considering it was a primetime game), which is probably why we are relegated to Friday now:

…although, the article does say it was the highest viewership in six years for that game.

NFL putting a game on Thursday night really hurt it. Hell with my fantasy teams I found myself watching the NFL live and going back and watching the egg at midnight. It was rough trying to stay away from spoilers.
