Saturday (10/24) was the birthday of the late, great, Dale "Buffin" Griffin. He was not with the group that formed as the Doc Thomas Group (when the group didn't have a drummer). But he joined the group as it expanded two years later as their drummer. He was with the group as they changed their name to Shakedown Sound, and later to Silence. He was still with the group when they changed their name to Mott the Hoople, and achieved considerable soccer. To celebrate:

Saturday (10/24) is the birthday of Bill Wyman. While not a founding member, he joined the Rolling Stones very early in their existence (before they had a recording contract) as the bassist. To celebrate:

Bill was an enigma - a boring guy in one of the world's greatest rock and roll bands. I read Stone Alone and...it was boring.

He blended right in though. The bass lines on Satisfaction, Sympathy, Miss You, etc. were sublime. Always will be.
