Sage was a steal, great looking prospect. Plays great defense, plays in the flow of the offense and nice looking three. Jirak has shown some positives, very good passer and fiar defender. Rebounding needs work and he needs to stop shooting threes. Was hoping Thompson would have a good first uear but he probably needs to get stronger to see the floor. Hope he hangs in there. Dpn't know much about McCollums son but I've heard he is aggressive and gritty in practice.

Overall not a bad class.

Sage is a player right now
Jirak needs a year in the weight room but you can see why they like him
Thompson is the wild card-guessing he is ready on offense but needs to learn the defensive system.
McCollum is a player that probably wont play much but won't be a giant liability when he does.

I am assuming that Thompson is redshirting this year which puts him in next years frosh class with Ethan Harris...bookend power forwards?
This years frosh class features 2 bookend small forwards in koch and sage along with Jirak.
I like these 2 classes but we need guards also.
Getting 2 lightning quick guards and another big would fill out this roster nicely.
Banks,Stirtz and Hausen will be gone and leaves holes.
If Ben can supplement Combs and Howard in backcourt team could do damage next year.

Sage's game against WMU really helped his 3-point shooting statistics. Before that game, he was only 4/15 (26.7%) for the year. But his 3/4 performance Sunday now puts him at 36.8% for the year, which is much better. Hopefully, he has just needed time to get settled in. Sage becoming a consistent 3-point threat will be highly beneficial to his long-term success ... and the success of the team.

I'm surprised we haven't seen Thompson, given the accolades he came in with. But as others have said, he likely needs to improve on defense. I assume he will be redshirting. McCollum said from Day 1 that the ability (and willingness) to defend was an absolute precondition for players seeing the floor. With this being McCollum's first year, and with the importance of firmly establishing the program's culture, I imagine sticking with this principle is of even greater importance. (Also likely explains Hausen's lack of playing time.)

With Ethan Harris coming in next year, it seems like we are doing really well with young forwards (Sage, Koch, Thompson, Harris, etc.). Definitely need to get some more ball-handling (and sharp-shooting) guards, as well as another true post (to complement Jirak, who also looks promising).

Sage has really come on. Know the last sentence is making me think of little Lick-need an asprin.

Really solid group (remember that Cooper is a RS Fr. too).

3 Really good young players RIGHT NOW, that are only going to get better... Cooper, Sage, Howard (So).. I know only one of them are in this Freshman class, but they are our best young players that are going to win NOW.

Pumped for the rest of the season and beyond!

They look like guys who would excel in the MVC.

Sage has shown flashes. He still isn't a top tier kind of player.
Jirak is not going to be a guy that improves much.
Trey is going to transfer. Seems like a logical guess.

Big Red had better move the needle quickly when he arrives

Sage played point guard for a good chunk of time in the 2nd half. Very versatile.
