Know there is a thread on Freeman & I don't want to pile on because he is a warrior, plays his heart out & doesn't deserve it. That being said, he needs to sit & get slpinters up his can until he can figure out that he's not on the 2 yard line & stop lowering his shoulder & trying to bull it over the goal line. How many times has he done this & in how many games & all with the same result- a charging call? Driving me crazy. Pikell needs to get his ATTENTION on this. And by the way, were those two announcers a couple of Big Ten establishment bums or what?

Agree that Freeman's performances against real competition has been dreadful. Unfortunately, his replacement, Sa, has been quietly terrible too. We're getting nothing from that position. Actually worse than nothing offensively.

Right. I wanted to make the point independently. What are your thoughts on it?

I will say here that those "plays" seem set up for him and it was tried 3 times in a row...so the coach has got to be involved in that and helping to force it. Same thing happened in the PSU game after CJ made back to back baskets..then they ran that same spot up back into move.

Like the kid, hate the play. Un-natural spot for him. "Flow of the game" type player.

And yeah, the announcers...

Guys

You need to see what is going on

Right now...the BIGGEST problem on offense we have is that not only are we getting little outside shooting production ...it is ALL coming from the top....and almost NONE from the wing. If you chart our shooting percentage from 3 from the wing...you really would go ..."ph my..."

Well...other teams certainly do this....and they are completely hedging whoever is on the wing beyond the arc....into the middle on help defense.

This is completely CLOGGING the lane for not just Freeman, but also Sa who would like to go the baseline on back to the basket moves...but the help defense is making that harder to do....

Hitting outside shots on the wing would be the number ONE thing that would help more space for Freeman to operate...and would help his offensive numbers immesnly

Right now...Freeman's and Sa's biggest fan should be Thiam hitting threes from the wing on a consistent basis. That would change a lot on offense

That is totally misleading. If you look at Freeman's conference stats, he is tied for 6th on the team in rebounds per game at 2.7 rpg. It is so obvious that he is outmatched when playing bigger opponents in B1G play while he feasted on smaller opponents on teh cupcake teams in OOC play. And he is only averaging 6.7 ppg in conference play so he is not averaging a double-double in B1G play. Link below.

I don't think we are getting 13/9 from him in conference like we did OOC, but I don't expect 6.7/2.7 either. @MSU (with Ward and Bridges) and @Wisc (with Hayes and Happ) are two of the three toughest front lines he'll face (Purdue being the other). PSU was a head scratcher no doubt, but he did give us 11/4 while in foul trouble @UM and 9/11 @SHU.

dollar, my kids 2 boys & a girl, are in their 40's & late 30's. I was very tough on them, including my daughter, I guess you would say. Very old school. No excuses. Needless to say, no whining, just do it. Spent a lot of time with them. They could all stand on their own two feet right out of the box. Very proud of them. We are all very close. They understand the purpose & value of how they were raised.

Dollar, thanks for your response. Only able to see snatches, as my son was down & was interested in the Giants game. We were switching back & forth. What I saw of DF looked very good. No trying to bull over from the 2. Looks like someone got his ear. Very happy for him. Hope he continues this play.
