One flaw in his plan. If you suspend a coach without pay, what's to stop the school from giving him a bonus or a raise for the next year? The NCAA is already trying to head down this path with the new rule a couple of years ago that if someone on staff commits a violation, it's presumed the head coach knew about it and he's directly responsible. But it's looking like they don't have the guts to use it. Or, more likely, they realize they're headed for a big lawsuit the first time they do try to.

Thanks for the share DS. To respond to Pat's comments, he's 100% right. I'm sure someone would find loopholes to soften the financial blow. However, the fact that a coach served a suspension is bigger than the money. The televised game would be a big "you're on probation" infomercial. Let's be real, if Saban misses 2 games wouldn't you say the odds of them losing increasing?

Wow! I had grown tired of even hearing about all these speculative "Ole Miss football is in trouble with the NCAA" stories. A fella can only handle so much disappointment. However, now that we have some real facts and finality to it with the 30 years part, I'm excited. Hopefully, we can not have any more threads on these "it's coming" stories until the 30 year time frame is up and can all eagerly anticipate that day. Unless, of course, between now and then, someone, somewhere actually gets a real (not fake) letter that something really is up, or perhaps if OM or the NCAA actually acknowledge the existence that something is really happening. Anyway, no more need for discussion about the coming conspiracies until 2046. Thanks, Uncle Ruckus
