This game had nothing to do with missed FTs. You have 5 individuals on the floor offensively vs a team. Sometimes you have 2 or 3 players working together on offense, very rarely do we have 5 players working together on offense for very long. There is no leader on this team to make sure everyone is taking the shot they are supposed to and just jacking up the first shot with the smallest window of space.

That drive by Gavin to JMike to Noah for an open 3 was one of the few nicely executed plays on offense. Wish that happened more instead of dribble dribble juke miss by Hyatt, Mag and a few others all game long.

Purdue won the game from the free throw line with Edey and Smith taking most of the shots.Rutgers half court offense is sub par because of the dependence on play ground offense without players that can create and make shots off the dribble. This was a winnable game because Purdue only scored 68 points but Rutgers struggled to score 60 points. There is no question that additional replacement players from the transfer portal will be needed to complement the freshmen class for next season. The absence of scoring threats at most positions must be corrected .

We were 8-13 from the FT line even if we hit 80% (best % in NCAA is 81%) that’s 10 - an extra 2 points isn’t winning that game.
