Free Throws were HUGE vs Sara

We've haven't been a great free throw shooting team, overall, under Pike. Well, tonight it was a KEY factor in the win.

14-18 for 77.8%!!! HUGE!!!

Myles 1-1!!!!

I hope the percentage continues!

The only negative, if there is one, is only getting 18 attempts to the line....

I think we would all take it right now if offered the chance to lock in 75% FT shooting every game. If we hot the 60% we'd been putting up, that might've cost us the W.

I want to see Harper shoot FT at a higher clip - I know he is capable of it.

Ron has shot 67.9, 70.8, and 61.5 at Rutgers for career FT% of 69.0.

I know he and his dad were personally close with Kobe.

When I see Harper at the FT line, I picture him channeling his inner Kobe, who was a career 83.7% FT shooter.

I really think Harper is capable of approaching that number if he can properly relax, focus, and control his mind.

(Senior Ron Harper was a career 72.0% FT shooter. Hopefully Ron Jr can at least hit that #)

free throws were a big part of why RU won last night, miss 4 or 5 in that key sequence when we were on that run and the game could have changed easily. Have to do the little things that you can control right when you are struggling with your offense and some depth issues

Montez is shooting nearly 50% (49.1%) on the year while averaging 16.3/4.8/2.5 and 1.5 steals a game. I think our gripes can be directed else where. Kids taken a huge jump.

I'd say 18 trips to the charity stripe would have been a positive. We definitely made the most of our free throws last night regardless. Go RU!

Montez is having an excellent season but is getting lost a bit with Ron and Young having great seasons as well.

He has done a better job of not forcing things and finishing under control around the rim. Occasionally he takes the ole "its my turn" shot but you can live with that. He is willing to take big shots and hits timely 3's when we really need a bucket. I actually would like to see him try to drive a bit more. He has been very effective slashing to the basket

@Scangg agreed. He is excellent around the rim. I’m very happy he is becoming more comfortable with his shot. Always seems to have a timely 3 even in the latter part of last season. I’m loving his development especially doing this while usually tasked towards the tougher defensive assignments.

Mathis is probably our best SG defender.

He's also a GREAT 3rd or 4th offensive option after Harper, Baker and possibly JY. Not many teams will have a 4th option that good.
