Right, because it is very clearly explained at the top of this board that politics are not up for discussion here. This is a Nebraska sports board. If you guys want to get political there are plenty of other venues for that. Crying about free speech is laughable. It's a bad look.

True. But many on here like yourself have been on here for YEARS. Formed a brotherhood. I know we don't all agree, not even on husker football but we exchange our views.

The open board was a good thing. If we can only talk sports then maybe they should ban anything OT.

This board didn't always have the header sticky note on it.

The problem is politics brings out a new level of divisiveness and nastiness in many people on both sides. It just leads to threads full of people calling each other names with no substance. When stuff like that happens those threads end up at the top of the forum and people have to put up with seeing the JaemeGONEs of the board clogging up valuable real estate.

There were some pretty vile posts and comments on that board and the fact they were in something related to Huskers or the University was embarrassing. It was a bad look and reflected poorly on our fanbase. There are plenty of threads on Reddit if people want to spout off about the topics of the day

I agree with you about private business, they get to decide how things work for their business. But it chaps my *** when people use the private business argument when it suits them and then when they disagree with a cake maker in Colorado they say, “he won’t make cakes for LGBTQ+, fúck that guy he should have to close his doors forever”. I deleted it because I reconsidered because I recall someone got kicked off the site for some stuff they sent in DMs but it was all safety related stuff and personal threats...

But no if you want to start a big group DM and discuss politics go right ahead, we can't even see it unless somebody screenshots it and send it to us or a moderator is involved.

IIRC that is how the Platinum board got started.
