Neither go all in for Dana AltmanRick Pitino is 70, forgets where he is, wears adult diapers, and takes blood pressure medication. Ritchie might be interested.
Better than what we’ve got?Rick Pitino is 70, forgets where he is, wears adult diapers, and takes blood pressure medication. Ritchie might be interested.
Don't buy out! Let him get the team better or live the contract out! We can adapt to a time period of waiting for a coach that can recruit some bid men! Average point guards and small forwards are in good supply! There's a coach out there that can get us to 500! Fred will reduce the buyout himself, or we get better! GBRThis is all inevitably leading to discussion of the buyout. Hopefully Fred does the right thing by Nebraska and foregoes some of the buyout. I doubt that happens but if he is being honest, he doesn't deserve anywhere close to what he's been paid and doesn't deserve a single cent of buyout dollars. He doesn't plan on staying here long term. He can go back to his lake house and be fine. The sooner the better.
Fred has never had a true big man that was good. I’m talking 6’10 or biggerDon't buy out! Let him get the team better or live the contract out! Who cares if he’s 70. Need 2-3 years to turn this ship around and he’s more than capable of doing it. Went to a mid major and has His teamRick Pitino is 70, forgets where he is, wears adult diapers, and takes blood pressure medication. Ritchie might be interested.
and yet he is head and shoulders better than Freddy.Rick Pitino is 70, forgets where he is, wears adult diapers, and takes blood pressure medication. Ritchie might be interested.
His caregivers.Who cares if he’s 70.
Same thing was proclaimed when Hoiberg was hired.Need 2-3 years to turn this ship around and he’s more than capable of doing it
We had that coach before Fred. His name was Tim Miles. He was 116-114 in his Nebraska career.Don't buy out! Let him get the team better or live the contract out! If Rick Pitino is coaching anywhere next season but Iona, it will be at Maryland. He's not coming to a reclamation project like Nebraska to spend his final coaching years.Find anyway possible to fire this dumpster fire and get Rick Pitino on the phone.
Looking back at Miles' Nebraska career now, it's actually looking quite impressive based on what Hoiberg has done and what others did before Miles. We had that coach before Fred. His name was Tim Miles. He was 116-114 in his Nebraska career.
Again, if Pitino is anywhere next year other than Iona, it will be at Maryland.Who cares if he’s 70. Need 2-3 years to turn this ship around and he’s more than capable of doing it. Went to a mid major and has His team
In first place.
Why would Pikel take a lesser job than what he already has? Not even debatable that Rutgers is the better basketball job.NU NEEDS Steve Pikel from Rutgers.
Many familiar with Fred at Iowa State will tell you that a huge key to his ISU success was having a really solid staff surrounding him there-- appears to be much stronger than what he has at Nebraska.I mean, we finally hire a coach with a history of success in a power conference and we get this. He's gonna make more than $30 million over three years for this.

As much as people may not want to to agree, THIS is the truth.Football is the priority at Nebraska and always will be. And even though Fred has brought us to historically bad lows even for this program, the fact remains that NU hoops, with a few exceptions here and there, has always sucked. Therefore, I say keep Fred around until the new football facilities are paid for and we know how much money we might need to buy out Frost and bring in a kick *** new football coach. Hopefully, Frost turns it around next year, money comes in for the facilities and our finances will be much better. Then fire Fred.
Sadly you can't buy "history of success".I'm not sure what else Nebraska could do to improve the basketball program. We've gone all in, spared no expense, yet here we are. To date it hasn't worked out but not because of a lack of effort by the powers that be.
Correct, and your not going to win in this league without having quality people in the paint..Fred has never had a true big man that was good. I’m talking 6’10 or bigger
Money? Why would Pikel take a lesser job than what he already has? Not even debatable that Rutgers is the better basketball job.
Pikel has the strong metro recruiting bases in close proximity at Rutgers in order to have much more success there than he could ever have at Nebraska.
That early tourney exit in ‘14-‘15 will be the last time dead Fred leads a team to a winning season in his career, which is now plummeting headlong down the Grand CanyonI mean, we finally hire a coach with a history of success in a power conference and we get this. He's gonna make more than $30 million over three years for this.

Starting to wonder if Fred actually runs practices or if his assistants do ? Per OWH 2/14/22, Fred is quoted, “ I tried to get everybody in there, I just couldn’t find the right formula.” This is where we are, still, after 25 games? Yikes. Many familiar with Fred at Iowa State will tell you that a huge key to his ISU success was having a really solid staff surrounding him there-- appears to be much stronger than what he has at Nebraska.
The current ISU Head Coach was his lead recruiter when he was there and landed top player after top player. Fred simply doesn't have this kind of staff currently.
Some of us think they just play shirts and skins during practice..Starting to wonder if Fred actually runs practices or if his assistants do ? We used to have that at Nebraska, when Danny Nee was coaching. As much as people may not want to to agree, THIS is the truth.
Some schools simply do not put the same level of priority on it's basketball program.
Iowa is an example who has lower level expectations in basketball too. While Fran McCaffery has a very decent program at Iowa, the reality is he's never made even a Sweet 16 in his previous 11 years at Iowa yet he's held in high regard there. Sometimes just being competitive is all that matters-- AND making the NCAA tourney 50% of the time (something McCaffery has done there).
With this said though, Hoiberg MUST perform better than he has so far. Looking where the program is at in Year 3, even with COVID factoring in during his time in Lincoln, is just not acceptable.
I'm guessing Danny Nee is more and more appreciated at Nebraska every year that passes. We used to have that at Nebraska, when Danny Nee was coaching.
Kind of like when you ran Alford out of I-city and hired Lickliter…I'm guessing Danny Nee is more and more appreciated at Nebraska every year that passes.
