Hoiberg was fired by the bulls this morning. Saw this on his wikipedia page...I know its a joke and all, but can you imagine if Moos could somehow lure Fred to Lincoln if Miles were gone?

Chicago Bulls
On June 2, 2015, the Chicago Bulls hired Hoiberg as head coach under a 5-year contract worth $25 million.[7] In his rookie season as head coach, the Bulls missed the playoffs for the first time in eight years, failing to meet preseason expectations. In his second season, the Bulls lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Boston Celtics after taking a 2–0 lead, and were again perceived as underachieving. In March 2017, ESPN ranked Hoiberg as the worst head coach in the league.
Hoiberg was fired on December 3rd, 2018 with Jim Boylen as the immediate interim head coach for the Bulls. [8]
Nebraska Cornhuskers

Fred is slated to take over head coaching duties after the 2018/2019 season, returning to his birth state as he re-enters college coaching.

I'd definitely make a big offer if Miles doesn't make the tournament this year. But I've heard that he left ISU because he doesn't like recruiting. I can see him taking an NBA assistant/front office job for now and I think he'll get another NBA head coaching opportunity eventually. I mean, Quin Snyder is an NBA head coach now, and he got fired at Mizzou.

I've been plenty vocal about supporting Coach Miles, but if there was a way to get Hoiberg to coach Nebraska, one has to take that chance. The Cubs were in a similar position when they had come off of a decent year with Rick Renteria and he was slated to return until Joe Maddon became available. They had to make the move because it was an opportunity to upgrade. I would have no problem with this happening, but I would have a problem with canning Miles (if he makes the tournament this year) and not having a home run hire waiting.
