Damn. Steelers fan here but unfortunately never had the pleasure of meeting him. My mother got to meet him once at a speaking event. She said he was a very down to earth, friendly and humble guy. RIP.

I think the Steelers are planning a big homage to the Immaculate Reception on Christmas Eve when the raiders come to the banks of the 3 rivers. 50 year anniversary

Yeah there's going to be some sort of celebration. A lot more somber now. Though it's the 50 year anniversary

Watched an interesting clip about the "Immaculate Reception" a while back and remember the head Ref asking the head of security right after the play, that hadn't been called a TD yet "How many officers can you give me to escort us off the field"..the answer was 3....Head ref said "3!! That's it??? TOUCHDOWN"
