How about you shut up and deal with the fact that some fans want more than the same mediocrity and different excuses each year. Take a look in the mirror, angry one before calling people names. You have no idea what you are talking about. Nobody "hates" anybody. Some fans just want to see progress towards 8, 9 or golly even a 10 win season once in a while. You are just an angry dude screaming get off my lawn.

Some want more, and others just want to troll and celebrate defeats. Some just want to see progress and some really do hate Schiano. A broad brush really doesn't work here

You're fos. There are plenty of haters around here. Try those that incessantly criticize Schiano . So give me a name that I asked for. And by the way you're just a sanctimonious poster that thinks he's knows better than most. Look in the mirror yourself and try to listen to your own words-- shut up,angry one, angry dude. You're no better than most but think you are and that bs argument about accepting mediocrity is nonsense especially for those that give and give big to help RU. You give with your mouth, anything else?
Look, you old grouch, you know nothing about me. Criticism for a man making nearly $7M and a spend in the highest 1/3 of B1G teams earns criticism when wins do not happen. You are just one of Greg's lap dogs. Have seen you guys worshiping the ground he walks on. You just can bear anyone pointing out that the program has not gone anywhere in the last few years and is treading the waters of mediocrity. Some fans/donors want more. Is that unreasonable. Can people have different opinions? Not for you, apparently. I have probably given more than you have in the last 5 years, but that actually does not mean anything. This is a fan board for fans to share their thoughts on the state of the program and its progress, or lack thereof.

I'm not in the hate crowd. I don't celebrate defeats. I find them frustrating. Like the Illinois one last year, the Iowa and Minnesota defeats this year. Cal just fired Wilcox after 9 years. And he had a better record than our coach. And Cal is not a football powerhouse. They are like a West coast version of Rutgers. The situation with the buyout and so many openings and so few coaches makes this a poor year to fire him. Hoping for a good year next year, because I truly like Greg and what he stands for.

they can't debate the records, failings, or legitimate criticisms of the program so they use feeling words like 'hater'. They are the reddit crowd here.

Don't forget one of the highest paid offensive coordinators in the country (at least top 5 if I remember) and a defensive coordinator that he previously fired.

RU66 is the worst. Just angry diatribes, and seems to think everyone should be grateful Greg graces us with his leadership. Again, Greg is a fine, upstanding man who runs a clean program, and he is an excellent developer of young men for life after college football. Wanting more should not be scorned at, and we should not be yelled at and belittled for wanting more.

This from the guy who accuses others of being angry and calling people names. Knight shift, you also now prove yourself not only to be sanctimonious but a hypocrite .Old grouch, angry old man, lapdog and other attacks--- it's OK for you to call names but not others, you're a phoney. And by the way, you ,as you professed about me , likewise know nothing about me .I'm not a lapdog for anyone but unlike some around here get sick of constant attacks on Rutgers,it's coaches, you name it ( even student ticket takers) .Again give me a name of a coach RU can hire now who can do those things listed.

Sir, you are a little unhinged and going off on several items that do not apply to me. Not guilty on all charges, except an eye for and eye on name-calling. You seem to feel the need to be the defender in chief for a guy making $7M/year and who will likely not have a winning record in year 6 when he stated his goal was national championships. There is no hate from me, just a plain observation that the program seems to be stuck in neutral. Have no idea what you are talking about with ticket takers. Never had an issue with any of the stadium staff, and I am the epitome of a gentleman and a scholar with the people who work the stadium, even when my phone does not scan, I laugh it off and thank the person for their patience. I, as other do, have issues with the volume of the music in the stadium and the selection. Shoot us for having an opinion and wanting to enjoy the games with our family and friends with some discussion between plays.

Coaches: Jim Mora, Ken Dillingham, PJ Fleck (yes, PJ Fleck), Bob Chesney, Brian Hartline, Pat Fitzgerald, and there are others. Quite certain you will shoot every single one of them down.

This is a discussion forum. You do realize people can have different opinions?

You wanted him fired in 2004 you idiot. Look in the mirror you old fool.
Although I'm disappointed with the state of the program this year, and believe his seat should be warm, I'm not sure there's anyone out there who has resurrected a Shea and Ash level program -- the absolute worst in the Div. 1. And he did it twice. Even recognizing our top ten SOS, I'm yet left wondering after this year whether he has plateaued.

We are 5-6. Here are the records of teams we lost to:

11-0
10-1
8-3
7-4
7-4
6-5

49-17

That’s the record
Preseason we had the #7 ranked SOS in the country. Don't know what it is now. Still though, think he made some errors with the coaching staff this year.

nice, he should have been fired before the watered down BE made him look better than his buffanova days. No one has done less with more unless you can prove me wrong. I'll remind you, in a watered down BE, we never won it despite having more 1,2,3 rd picks than any other program in the country for a 2yr stretch.

you, rufanforlife, and ru66 are always name calling and sound so angry. I can't help if your wife sleeps with other guys cause you're inadequate or that you make no money and drive a rebranded yugo but I can tell you to try and use your brain more.

Watered down BE? You mean our best year in 2006? L'ville ended up #3 and WVU in the top 10. Are you truly that stupid or just faking it? Your wife hates that you are an imbecile and has actually sought others on the internet. Surely you are aware of her activities. Or are you stupid?

Well, this took a turn.
It's a microcosm of society. The WWE in the 80's and 90's has morphed into politics and other facets of life. Some people are unable to politely disagree without getting insulted, called names and/or yelled at. And then when someone responds in kind, they get called a phony and a hypocrite. 🤷‍♂️

Should have is a strong statement. We had a chance but the D worn down and the O disappeared in the 2nd half.
no should have, zero question about that

the D didn't wear down in those two games, the offense became predictable, both Iowa and MN made adjustments and we did not. The play calling was beyond atrocious.

the coaches lost those games.

The Iowa, Minnesota, and last year, KSU coaches made the same aggressive defensive 2nd half adjustments and the RU coaches failed to counter them each time.

I am a big GS fan. I think that he really does things the right way with the program and the way he treats the kids.
However, even I'm getting frustrated. Start with the fair catch business. We concede 3 or 4 possible game breaking plays every game. Why? Has he ever given a clear answer to that question? If it's a risk/reward situation why aren't other teams doing it? Has he received some super secret info and stats that no one else knows about??
The second thing was the whole Smith hiring. The guy was a two time loser with THIS PROGRAM but we bring him back for the trifecta??? Why not hire the biggest waste of oxygen coach in all of America, Andy Buh??II He might be the only assistant in the entire sport worse then Smith. (I know he was an Ash hire but a good comparison).
Finally I confess that I've been very disappointed with the past two seasons. I'm not going to nit pick individual games or moves but the whole feeling around the program has changed from hopeful to an acceptance of mediocrity. I don't want to spend the few remaining years I may have left HOPING that my favorite team will achieve bowl eligibility and a trip to the Bronx or Detroit. My goal is to some day go to see RU play in a NYD game. Even though overall we are a better team then we were five years ago, that goal seems as far away now as it was then.

Sick of all these Schiano hater a holes. Give us one name of a coach who would come here,be a great recruiter, do more with less ,know how to deal with NJpolitics, get nil donors on his own to bail us out and be able to deal with all the bull **** idiots who live in NJ and can't stop criticizing Rutgers .And by the way who the haters ,who contribute little or nothing to RU financially or morally, think will regularly win BIG championships and who RU can afford .
Morally? Lololo Greg is by far the most morally corrupt individual in the history of RU. Can’t win full of excuses and finally w a true AD in place will be gone.,

I don't think this is appropriate. Unless there is evidence of such, this is just slander. You don't have to like him as a coach but to say he absolutely knew about what happened at PSU without proof is slanderous, dangerous, and unfair.

So- I was just ok with him coming back- there was no lost love for GS 1.0 and me but it did feel like we needed Greg 2.0 to at least right the ship that Ash burnt down. And then he seemed like he may have grown up a little. Not as much of a bully...I even had him tell me that he had wished he had handled many things different his first time through and apologized for it.

so, willing to give him a shot. He made good on getting this program back to respectability. But it seems that he has gone back a little into his old style and his hiring of staff has been very questionable.
then, I am thinking- we have a President and AD that are all in on Football...And maybe Greg gets the cash to hit the portal hard this upcoming year. But over the last 2 years, his game day coaching has been horrible. More concerned about keeping games close then actually trying to win. And he has single handedly lost a couple of games for us and even something so small, such as his fair catching everything, has become a joke line. And then, in blowouts where he brings next year's starting QB into a game- instead of doing anything, he gets him experience handing the ball off. I think we may be the only team I have ever seen go into halftime losing by 2 scores and only throw the ball 5 times or less the rest of the game.

So, at this point- it really has to be "Thank You Greg and good luck in the future"

Out of the names that may be available- Mora is the guy I would love to get. What he has done at UConn is remarkable. And it shows he can handle the NorthEast as well.

Like I said ,a hater, with Schiano derangement syndrome of the worst kind. You accuse him of something completely unfounded with not the slightest proof . If he actually gave a crap about idiots like yourself he'd own your house in 3 months via lawsuits.

Who knows what he’d do when if he gets another opportunity in the P4. Same goes for pretty much anyone not named Saban… hot name to unknown/overlooked name and the like. It’s always a crapshoot and you need a little luck too.

Championships? I doubt it but I could see him improve the situation of a school. In the end though, you never know for sure.

Is the resume’ worthy of an opportunity? If the answer is yes then that’s all you can ask for, make your best educated guess and hope for the best.
