I've been rewatching trying to figure out when it happened. I think it was right after Banks rocked him with a shoulder to the chest twice on the right block. I'll venture a bet that Fred gets asked about it and he says he just needed to catch his breath.
With Banks' height and blocking ability, maybe NIL to convert him to TE at UNL?

Sam is done after this year so I don't know why that would affect Frager transferring.

However with the portal today I just assume everyone is a free agent.
Well Sam's dad is the coach, not that it will matter to the coach, but Frager, being young, may have a less mature approach.

Frager’s production has decreased some but some of that is opposing coaches figuring out that they need to scheme for him. He was getting way more lanes and open looks from 3 early in the season. Mast’s funk IMO has put more pressure on both Sandfort and Frager.

Super athletic freshman who is going through a rough patch. It happens. Everything leading up to this point says he's 100% bought in. Lots of minutes and starting spots will be open next year. I think some of his frustrations will naturally dissipate as he gets more minutes and opportunities, hopefully with us.

I think he's pressing a little because he isn't getting the same looks as when he was an unknown at the start of the season. Big 10 bball is also a grind at the end of the season. Have to adjust. Sandfort is getting mugged all game long. Difference is he's been through it before.

Was watching the Indiana-Ohio State game a little on Sunday. Jim Jackson was doing the game and said he asked Indiana coach Darian DeVeries what surprised him about the Big Ten. Couple points he brought up were the size and physicality of the front court, ha no kidding. Another he brought up was the scouting in the Big Ten. Which I thought was a little surprising considering he spent a season in the Big 12.

Point being these teams and staffs in the Big Ten know their sh*t and can figure ways to slow guys down. Frager is seeing that first hand. Iowa did a number on Frager in Iowa City earlier and he had an off game there too. IMO when he drives the lane he needs to be more aggressive around the basket. Take it up strong and see if you can get to the line. James Palmer made a living at the line doing that when he was here. He is driving and getting himself in the tough positions and having some bad turnovers. I think he will get it figured out. Be nice for him to have a little bit of a break out game in the quarters on Friday to get his head right going in to the NCAA Tourney.

Yes I would say the same thing about Lawrence - that he's struggled some since his ankle sprain and his spat with the flu. But even when he's struggling on offense, Lawrence always plays his a$$ off on the defensive end, and he's the closest thing NU has to a point guard. He's a lot better at feeding the ball inside and finding guys cutting to the basket than Worster was last year.

I've heard this more than once....that part of the grind in the B1G is that everyone knows Fred and his schemes and how to attack. The same is true for every coach/team in the B1G. It may be why Cale Jacobson was the difference maker on Sunday (and Combs/Koch for Iowa). Coaches minimized what the known stars could do, so someone else had to be the difference.

So if Nebraska can avoid a headline-making upset next week in Round 1, then they'll have a legit shot at the Sweet 16 because their opponent will have only 1 day to prep.

I agree with you completely on the 1 day prep. If they get a 3 or possibly a 2 seed you will get probably a pretty solid power 5 (I throw the Big East in the power BB school) in the second round. Not a lot of defense in the SEC or ACC this year. The one team that could really be a ***** to face in the second round would be St. John's.

Right now, Lunardi has the 6 seeds as Louisville, BYU, Wisconsin, and UNC. Obviously they would not match us up with Wisconsin. UNC would be tough, they are strong inside and also have a veteran guard in Trimble. Louisville is guard heavy, I think we would match up well there. And I'd like our chances against BYU (Saunders is out with a torn ACL).

CBS has us against Tennessee. I hope not. They are also very strong inside but have a very good veteran point guard in Gillespie.

You shouldn't be. At least JLaw plays within the framework of the team and knows his role.

The adjustment opposing coaches have made with Frager is that he does not look to pass the ball at all when he puts his head down to drive to the hoop. It's all or nothing with him and lately it has resulted in fewer buckets and more bad turnovers.
