Nobody will ever be able to prove it short of a war. You can bet your *** they created this and it got out of hand and couldn’t contain it.

Why can't it be a natural mutation and a laboratory accident?

A SARS coronavirus (or other coronaviruses) in a bat in the lab could mutate just like it could in nature. It is a horrible mistake to assume that just because something is in a laboratory that it will be in a static state. I don't think you have to do any willful level of biological engineering for this to happen.

Scientists then get a little careless and the virus escapes somehow. It's not that hard to contemplate.

No bioweapons program. No genetic engineering. No conspiracy to release it.

There would be plenty of reason to cover something like this up though.

I was watching that segment when it came on live and backed it up a couple times to make sure I heard right. Sounds like the transmission happened from bat to human with the lab workers that were exposed to high amounts of bat feces, urine, and blood.

You can blame China for covering up the severity of the situation but good Lord some people want to see the black helicopters.

They didn’t create it, but they are to blame for the transmission from bat to human. Big difference.

And how convenient the woman doctor that was trying to warn people cane up missing soon after.

You might not want to be so naive and open your eyes a bit. This news is nothing new. Fauci is almost as dirty in all this as China.

A nation or society governed by civilized, compassionate people who place a high value on human life & ethical conduct does not choose to cover up something like this when they know the coverup itself will cause countless #'s of deaths, with the potential to plunge all of humanity into a modern-day plague, destroying economies, lives, etc.

But with the communist government of China we are looking at one that doesn't seem to think twice about murdering their own citizens for the sake of their own power. You think such people give a damn what happens to other country's citizens? Do you think them incapable of researching and trying to produce a biological weapon for which they also try to produce an anti-viral so they could severely weaken other nations while selectively issuing the anti-virus to use as leverage to gain ever more power?

I'm not suggesting this is what happened or that it could not be one of the other possible scenarios you mentioned. But when taken in context including their willingness to plunge the world into this chaos by denying, delaying & obfuscating facts, refusing help from other country's scientists regarded as premier experts, etc., murdering those of their own medical community who dare to tell the truth, the other possibilities seem to be far less likely.

Yep, whatever led to this was something weird and strange. IMO, something unnatural happened to allow a pathogen like this that had never been in humans before in thousands of years to all of a sudden show up now. If it was going to happen naturally I believe it would have already occurred well before now.

So you are saying a non-human pathogen, maintained under laboratory conditions, picked up a random mutation that made it infectious to humans and then picked up a second mutation that made it virulent to humans, followed by this random strain somehow was released due to sloppiness?

If this was a bioweapon or recombinant strain, the Chinese suck at genetics. If this is naturally occurring, then what possible reason would a naturally occurring event need to be associated with a lab? SARS and MERS, which are both more deadly, were natural but were not as transmissible. Why wouldn’t the same kind of event happen again naturally this time with a more transmissible strain? Every US expert that has looked at this has said its natural.

If someone wants to accuse China of lying about numbers or covering up their inability to contain this, go for it. I just do not get the need to make this a laboratory conspiracy.

I hope WW3 doesn’t get loose. Someone will surely lose in that scenario.
You could argue we’d all be so loose that we’d all lose.
