Brando and Gardner tonight for those not at SHI
Brando called our Washington state win in 2014 (with klatt) . I always felt he was a big time college voice . However, our basketball board did not like how he called the Ru-purdue game at the RAC last year.

Gardner called our loss to Nebraska in 2022. There were some bogus refereee calls that kept Nebraska in it. (One was a holding call from a woman official along the Rutgers sideline that took back a long TD run from Brown ). Gardner totally whiffed on the analysis - hopefully he has improved.

Here was a thread about the officials in that game . Like I said , I hope Gardner has improved at analysis.

That game got the great Gleeson canned 36 hours later.

Gardner was the losing QB for Michigan against us in 2014. For those that are interested in this fact , Gardner’s loss that night was the last time Rutgers fans stormed the field !! Maybe it happens again with Gardner in the house !!

It's funny though I was listening to an interview Brando gave right before the RU - Purdue game and he was looking forward to coming to Rutgers to call the game! He had never been to the RAC but knew of its reputation.
The basketball board didn’t like him

Brando is the John Sterling of college football. Big time voice, but seems to have no idea what's going on.

Glad I'll be at the game!

I thought Brando was awful calling the Illinois - Nebraska game. Just obnoxious. Gardner was just okay

Tim Brando has name recognition in all parts of the country that take Div-1 football and hoops seriously.
This is the part that will bother folks here … he is a long-time friend of Paul Finebaum.

I know a lot of rutgers fans that don’t like the patriots or belllichick, but don’t mind schiano is friends with bellichick . Or don’t like Florida, Ohio state or urban …but don’t mind schiano is is friends with urban

Tim Brando has a good voice but uses a lot of OLD phrases and references.

Do we have Taryn Hatcher on the sidelines? May impact mine and @Plum Street 's plans to rush the field earlier than planned.

Tim Brando will be on play-by-play alongside analyst Devin Gardner with Josh Sims reporting from the sidelines.

Nothing against Josh Sims, but Taryn is better on the sidelines.

Gardner is awful. I mean, yes - there are worse but I listened to him a couple of times this year (while watching other games), and couldn't stop thinking, "Who is this F$#kin' announcer, and when will he just shut up?!" Then, I found out it was him.

I must've been having a bad day.

I put on my favorite jazz on my high-end stereo system, with a glass of Johnny Green on the rocks, kickback with the mute button on, and enjoy the game. Tim Brando? No thanks.

Love Tim Brando. He’s getting older but to me he’s one of the voices of college football. The original college Gameday host. He loves college football and I hope he calls games as long as he wants.
