Here is FACT: Oxford without UM is Pontotoc prior to Toyota, except a LOT smaller. Starkville would be Aberdeen without MSU. Cool old towns maybe, but nothing spectacular.

Holy **** there’s a lot of cope in that thread. The Ole Miss fanatics on that board are getting eaten alive. One of the posters on the board posted side by side accomplishments over the past 40 years and it’s not close. State has been the best in Mississippi by a landslide.

By the way, Southern Miss has 2 legitimate UPI national championships from 1958 and 1962. Modern day equivalent would be FCS titles. Got an NIT tournament championship. We made it to Omaha before they did. We’ve actually won conference titles in football.
