His kids go to Gilbert that was just ranked as the 2nd best school in the state academically, you are just making crap up here. I get it, you want to see him leave, hoping ISU goes back to what it was before he got here. He may leave in the future, but it will be for the job of his choosing, everything I have heard both him and his wife love the Ames area and Gilbert school district. His kids are still young, his youngest is in my granddaughters class in 4th grade, the people of Gilbert respect their privacy and leave them alone when they attend events. He also loves the idea that it was him that really put ISU on the map and kept it growing, as long as the school can afford to stay at this level, its going to take the perfect job for him to leave.

Of course he would take the Bama job. Don't be ridiculous. It's an all time job in the best conference in football.
I really do not think he would, no doubt it's a great job, but it's not a great job for him. He is reaching the age very quickly where he will want to find his last job unless he stays in Ames. Campbell has no ties to the area, never coached in the South, and how has it worked out for coaches like him that have tried, very poorly.
Obviously being a Midwest guy something like Michigan would of course make more sense, but he's only 45 years old. That's young these days. He's nowhere close to the end of his coaching career. But I also don't think DeBoer is going to get fired. But even with no ties to the South and IF, and it's a big IF, he was in the running for the Bama job you just don't pass it up. And I'm not knocking Iowa St as he clearly has a good thing going and not being in one of the Big 2 conferences actually is working in his favor these days. However, it's going to get harder and harder I believe for the schools in the Big 12.
Regarding Fitz, I think he is a good coach and knows football. He had some impressive seasons at NU with recruiting restrictions very few other coaches have.
But he has a recent black mark next to his name, and that will keep him out of a very pc campus like Wisconsin. Iowa also seems unlikely for the same reason- maybe dialed down just a bit from Madison.

Not saying he is looking to retire, just that his next move if he makes it will be his last move. At his age he can wait for one of the plum jobs in the midwest to open up, it's very likely either Penn. State or Ohio St opens in the next say five years. If ISU continues to win at the pace they are, there is no reason to not think he would be the favorite for one of those jobs. ISU returns an awful lot of players from the team next year, they will lose 3 O lineman and a couple on the D line, but outside of that, most of the players return or can return. Having Rocco for another year with both backs returning might be reason enough to turn a plum job down that is out of the region.
Campbell seems like less of a coach trying to chase a national championship than one that wants to establish a lasting program, much like the past two squawk coaches were. You can make a lot of money at both schools, and have a fine quality of life, without the pressure of you must win a championship or you are going to be fired.
With the most pressure of any job. He can cruise in Ames with minimal pressure. If his family likes it where they are he's not going anywhere.

WTF did the Big Ten take UCLA anyway? What do they add that USC already did not?
Griffey Jr. turned down the Yankees more than once, we will never know if Campbell would take the Alabama job until it comes open.
