Well deserved, any Husker contributing in the High school program as a Head Coach is a complement to the program...

Devaney backin the day always said he wouldn’t hire a assistant on less they coached high school Football.

Would be nice to see former Huskers coaching at places where there are players who might want to wear the N.
Absolutely. Gotta build N back up across the country; no better way than to have an ambassador, on our side, to help suggest Frost and DONU!

Congrats Shanle!!

Didn't they (Shanle's) have a brother that was convicted of bank robbery or something like that?

The little town they were from back in the 70s to 80s was really rough. They had a several murders and lots of drugs. They were a little too close to Columbus for their law enforcement situation. I'm not sure what it's like now. The area around there is doing much better due to the ag recovery so it may be in a better place now. Back then, not so much. I knew 2 guys from there at least did time in the big house for murder in the 70s. I think ultimately both were drug related. There was just a bad almost underworld element living there then in a small segment of the population. Sadly there's several towns in NE Nebraska that have gone that way in the last couple of decades. The town's are dying and losing their schools. Then if they're a little too close to Columbus or Norfolk, they have super cheap housing for people abusing the system to move in to. The slide is really sad.

Unfortunately that's happening to all the small towns that are fairly close to one that has a Walmart. I think people would be amazed at all government money these people get to buy a dumpy house and money for a car. Biggest reason there welfare dollars go farther in smaller towns than in lincoln

I have a high school classmate who is a grocery store manager in a small town in Nebraska. He told me last summer that he use to know everyone who came into the store. He now says there is an itinerant class of trashy people who come to town, take advantage of everyone's goodwill then get out before everything comes crashing down on them. He says it is a never ending cycle.
