I had a Fusion Sport with 325 hp. Very nice car and I'm shocked they won't be making the Fusion anymore.

I too was aware of today's announcement a few weeks back, due to our relationship with the Detroit auto folks. As you know, the SUVs are the big sellers, and now that folks have more dough in their pockets, more people are looking to buy vehicles, and the vehicles of choice are the SUVs, now that people can not only afford them, but also afford to gas them up.

Thanks to the POTUS for growing this economy.

We currently sell 4 times more SUVs than sedans. Fact.

The consumer demand Market is a very powerful directive to manufacturers of automobiles and light trucks. They simply respond to what the consumers are demanding. Right now that's light trucks and SUVs. And it ain't even close!

Me too! Fusion was one of our best sellers, but no where near SUVs and pickups.

Own a loaded 2013 SHO that I ordered in the spring of ‘12 and I like it (although it seems like recalls come quicker than oil changes).

Considering the next generation (again fully loaded) Explorer that I thought would be a ‘19 but looking like 2020 (that can be purchased in ‘19). Since we’re super tight I figure you can hook me up....

I'll tell you what Orlaco. You will make that decision.

Know what Orlaco, we're so backed up on 2018 orders, I doubt production schedules for 19 models have even been set yet!

I might be the most patient buyer you’ve ever encountered.

I will order the model I want and insist it doesn’t even get any dealer crap on it (even a license plate frame) and insist that it only gets driven after factory testing from the truck to the ‘clean’ center at the dealership.

I’ll certainly NEVER bite on the ‘we’re so backed up’ crap. NEVER.

Well some of what you say is correct. But there is at least a 2 to 4 week wait list on build-to-order requisitions. If you can buy from exisisting inventories, you don't have to wait. But if you want a personalized 'Pimp mobile' like you described in the previous post...good luck with that!

You have to remember, Dealerships are placing orders for their inventories based on what's selling. The wait lists are for the most popular options. Other vehicles also have to be built without all the bells and whistles. There are only so many hours in a day, and only so many vehicles that can be built in 24 hours. If you need a job, Dearborn assembly is hiring...plenty of OT too! 32.00 an hour to start...but you will WORK!

Waited three months for my SHO.. ..no big deal. Fun really. At least it didn’t get treated like a rental car during test drives.

In my world a new car is like a vacation.. ..the anticipation actually beats the experience.

I don’t need a job....and while $32 an hour is fair pay those f#2ks don’t work hard. That’s laughable.

I install the buttons they push to make less money than I do...

Well Orlaco, for some folks 1280.00 a week isnt Nancy Pelosi style "crumbs". Not sure what it is you do, but I doubt you work harder than a drive train installer at Dearborn assembly plant.

Lots of them were Trump voters BTW.[winking]

I don’t work hard (anymore). I don’t pretend installing a union drive train is working hard either.

Not a single automotive union worker does anything I would consider ‘hard’. They put their time in...collect a ‘too much’ check.

As a contractor I do install systems (buttons...literally) to make their super tough jobs less stressful. By the way...they get really upset if those buttons can’t be reached from their ‘work’ chair.

Damn Orlaco...what you got against the UAW? That IS funny BTW.

You know the running joke is never order your vehicle to be built either on Monday morning or Friday evening. I'll let you figure out why since you're so 'down' on the Union Brothers!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
