For those who think OAD is

The only problem with the UK basketball program, that was two OAD freshman guards for UT that absolutely schooled us last night.

At the 12 minute mark, we are up 12. Barnes takes a TO just seconds before the under 12 tv timeout. This results in approximately 10 total minutes of time out for UT on the sideline.

I told my buddy you would see a dramatic shift in momentum when action resumed. Barnes adjusted his offense to a spread and let the 2 freshman guards abuse Askew, Mintz and Boston.

Cal made no adjustments other than trying to force the ball into KB and call every play from the sideline, slowing the offense to a crawl with 5 minutes of scoreless basketball again.

Our problem is greater than OAD. That just adds to our current issues.

Well stated. Cal was able to hide his coaching deficiencies when he had generational talent like Wall, AD, Knight, Bledsoe, Randle, Kat etc... now? Not so much.

Still waiting for a Calipari regime defender to explain what Cals offense is this year. What sets/ schemes and plays they’ve seen this year outlining Cals offense specifically. Specifically What type of cohesive offense Calipari has run the last several seasons. Can anyone answer?

@cats#1again? @jace2012? Genuinely curious.

This year it's fret to make a play and force something because the offensive sets aren't being executed. Which is because there's no pg. Which is why this season has happened

Cal has, more than half the time here, opted for big guards, not necessarily quick guards. He's had a few but more years than not, our guards don't possess elite quickness. When they don't, a few of the better teams exploit that weakness. We've seen it on both ends of the court at times - our guys can't penetrate and we can't keep their guys in front of us. I believe at the 1-3 positions Cal needs to recruit quicker players rather than tall, jump high, etc. If you've got an edge in quickness, both offense and defense improves. If you're a quarter step too slow, the converse is also true as we've seen time and again this year.
