Ok, I guess that’s the answer. Cal secretly doesn’t think Joel Justus is a good assistant and is damaging his own reputation and the Kentucky program. However, he can never fire him because he recommended him for a coaching job. Therefore he’s basically keeping dead weight on the sideline. Makes sense. 🤷🏽‍♂️
Kinda like when you keep playing a guy that should be on the bench just because of your pride or promises you’ve made ? Or he just doesn’t want to admit being wrong.

Of course ESPN making excuses why Duke struggles with so many young players (Covid, no exhibition games and so on) Yet UK has six freshmen and four transfers trying to learn a system going against upperclassman for the most part and we are bashing the hell out of our hall of fame coach. I’m not saying Cal doesn’t deserve criticism because we all know he does but I feel like even this but definitely next year he will right the ship .
Duke has their best team on the floor, Cal lost a bunch of games trying to get 1 guy NBA ready. You know it and so does everyone else on the board.
If Cal was playing his best guys and doing everything he could to win, he wouldn't be getting hammered on here.
Let's also not forget, every year we lose underclassmen to the GL and overseas that should have come back.
Cal deserves what he's getting. But you keep that head of yours, deep in the sand.

Seems like we were scrambling the year we got Murray at the last minute also . That year would have been a disaster without him .

recruiting has been scrambling for several years, I don't care what the rankings say
when you put all your eggs in one basket & then drop the basket, you are scrambling.
Herro is an example of a kid that UK never paid any attention too until he opened his recruitment again and then had to basically beg UK to take a look. The incoming class, the kid that decommited from UL, again, UK never even looked at & probably just took him to burn the UL coaches. Collins never was mentioned with UK until Lucas was hired. Oscar from WVU, UK was supposedly the leader till he made his visit & the coaches screwed that up. Doesn't anyone else see the trend??? This staff is lousy. They can't close the deal on anyone or anything, IF they were in the sales field, they would starve

This culture is going to be dealt with by everyone now transfers don't have to sit and get 1 time waivers. However, a word of advice to any Coach--it's best to not have a guy move in with you and still give him endless minutes if he's still playing like dog crap. That doesn't enhance a "team culture" at all.

How does this get glossed over? What exactly are you talking about?

did we ever find out exactly what Justus did to ruin UK's chances with Sallis & Hardy?

I think Jackson has shown flashes of greatness just being an athletic freak, that will get him in the first round if he wants to go. Boston has obviously killed his stock, kinda wonder if Clarke ever puts on a UK jersey again, gonna be interesting.
At this point I I could see Clarke not suiting up. The team has dug a hole that’s literally impossible of getting out of. Why come back and take a chance on hurting your draft stock

Meanwhile K is going to have returners, sign two of the top 10 shooters in the 2021 class, PBJ and Keels, which will push him to the #1 class, Duke's year again, but no worries, we have athletes 😐

********. Herro did not open his recruitment up and beg Cal. The reason he opened it back up is because Cal needed a late signing and had people get with his inner circle and check his interest. I mean you can criticize Cal for stuff he did wrong or should change, but do not just make **** up to fit your agenda. It is **** like this that kills me, at least have your facts in order and know WTF you are talking about, ill-informed comments like this one has no place on this board, other posters just like you will spread it like wildfire. But I guess facts are optional in a good Ole coach / program bashing.
