I know this will not be popular, but my two cents. I was like ya'll about the Memphis debacle, but in all fairness we have put the best team on the field for 4 weeks. The big play has been our achilles heel. N .C . State beat Clemson. yesterday

You are correct! The fan base, by and large though, is just tired of ...

finding ways to lose.
For many years, we were just outmatched and lost. Now, as you say, we match up well with many good teams.

It just seems we often find ways to lose games. I mean, we could be 4-0 now and we aren't. It's deflating.
Yes, many of us with this kind of talk still see the potential for improvement and a decent passing attack, but we have to vent along the way.

Teams that lose close games say that, especially teams that regularly lose close games. Also, teams that lose close games were regularly beaten by teams that didn't beat themselves, I guess. Look at Vandy. That's a team that has room for improvement too.

2001-2009 was 8 losing seasons and 1 winning season.

2010 to 2018 was 8 winning seasons and 1 losing season. Including legitimate national contention in 2014.

We are now staring at our 3rd consecutive losing season. And we know more than anyone that **** spreads like a cancer. That's plenty of reason to get riled up. It sure feels like the 20's are setting up to be more like the 00's than the 10's.

1991 to 2000: 7 winning seasons, 3 losing seasons
1981 to 1990: 2 winning seasons, 8 losing seasons
1971 to 1980: 5 and 5
1961 to 1970: 2 and 7, with 1 5-5 season ("tie")
1951 to 1960: 5 and 5
1941 to 1950: 7 and 2, with 1 4-4-1 season ("tie")

Looks to be what one might describe as "cyclical"

Facts are before the 17ed up call we were losing and it's just as likely Memphis drives down the field and scores another TD as not. This team has proven the offense can't do **** unless they are down 2 TD's in the 4th quarter. Memphis (the very worst defense in college football stonewalled this offense from the middle of the 2nd quarter until the last 5 minutes.

LSU was up 28 -10 with 7:00 left in the 4th quarter. That was not a game that slipped away. Because of one call.
