This is your problem. You are blind and think this started with COVID.

The leaning started many years ago. Outright lies have been told and/or truths not reported because it didn't fit the agenda.

They lost our trust long ago, and have done nothing during all of this to gain it back.

How did "the media" lose your trust? What is one example of a news story that "the media" got terribly wrong? What was your moment you realized it's all lies to hurt "conservatives"?

This attitude is just another way to vaguely complain about things and convince yourself the news you dont like must be fake. You are fooling yourself.

For me it was Iraq WMDs. Sent me to go liberate a nation on a lie. Was fun as hell though marching through Iraq, fvcking **** up. Then it was the complete lack of criticality with Obama during the 08 primaries and refusal to vette him or hold him accountable for damn near anything. The white washing of the abuse of power as it related to the IRS scandal, the VA scandal, Fast n Furious scandal, covering for him in a debate with Romney on Benghazi, and finally, the absolute most egregious abuse of power of our country in defrauding FISA to spy on an opposing political campaign. The latter makes Watergate look like child’s play. My favorite though was the “kids in cages” **** where they were using pictures taken from Obama’s administration to sensationalize it.

You don’t have to look very hard at fellow journalists slamming HuffPo, WaPo, and the NYT for going around the bend on their reporting during this administration. We expect MSNBC to be biased political hackery, just like we expect Fox to be. CNN used to be a place you could get an unbiased story. Now, they’ve been worse than MSNBC in their pravdaesque reporting.

I don’t trust anything I read or watch. I have to consume about 5 different versions of a story to get enough angles to be able to determine on my own what reality is. That’s damn sad for the 4th estate.

Maybe...just maybe..."the media" is just reporting on a global pandemic that has cost the USA 130K lives and seems to be gaining momentum here the last few weeks again.

Maybe there's no conspiracy to get the sports seasons canceled or influence the election.

Maybe the facts on the ground are driving decisions to preserve lives.

If your more concerned about weird ideas your paranoid mind comes up with than the actual real life problems we actually have you're doing it wrong.

Bill Maher wants a recession, you have folks in the media that taints their articles with a more leftist way of looking at things. The left uses feelings more and reason less. Like on climate change...there is no real science that says "MAN" made this. (YES, the climate and weather has changed since I was a kid, not arguing that)We have less than 150 years of actual temperatures from around the world. If you believe the Earth is well over a million years old(likely you thing 13 billionish) with the last ice age over 2.5 million years ago...so doesn't that mean 1, the Earth has been warming since then basically, even before man" was here? 2. 150/2,500,000 years .006% of just that time, for "accurate" temperature tracking. Do you really think that is enough to give any real indication what MAN has done and what is the EARTH doing it's thing...earthquakes, typhoon, tornadoes, erupting volcanoes and so on? 3. The Earth rotations are "wobblily" so even that can account for some of the issues. The next science that seems to misunderstood by one side(I think it is the left) is 2 sexes= 2 genders. Be whatever you want to be, but if you were born with a penis, you is a male and with a ****** a female. I'll try to call you by your preferred "title" or pronoun(if I know it)...but doesn't change my mind and NATURE. If your born male, you can impregnate a born woman...a born woman can have a baby...that hasn't changed.(Hard science fact?!) I digress.
The numbers used to justify the lockdowns and such have changed. Keep the deaths and hospitalizations to a minimum to "flatten the curve". Now the numbers of infected seems to be the focus with a side of "beds" getting full. In WV there is over 1500 active cases...only 4 in WVU hospitals(if not statewide), unless I misread the graphs I get daily in my email. I'll wait a couple more weeks, but it appears that the numbers just do not show the deaths and hospitalizations are equalling the panic, especially for those healthy people under 60 y.o.a. If someone wants to take their chances, they should be able to. I wear a mask when I cannot social distance or on the job(it's required), I see my mom most everyday and she is not in great health and almost 75 y.o. If someone knowing goes out in public, sick, they should be punished to some degree(fine) or if trying to cause others to be infected, something substantially more.

Who wants this pandemic to be as bad as possible?

That's the problem with always saying both sides are at fault. You end up making up what you think one side must be doing to equal out what the "other side" is doing.

No one wants this pandemic to be happening.
You must've skipped over this part.... Post by NOVA - "IMHO there are some in the media (even some sports connected) who want the coronavirus situation to be as bad as possible to make people pissed off going into the election in hopes the President will be defeated."

So what you are saying is that one side should just step aside and allow the other to rule the world? Both sides do exactly that. Been that way in politics forever. Just like this administration wants all the CV numbers going to HHS vs the CDC. Anyone with a shred of common sense knows exactly why the change. The numbers are not in the Presidents favor so he does what he always does, "Try to change the facts to fit his agenda.

let's see..

when CNN sympathized with jussie Smollett when everyone knew that was a hoax from the start

when CNN ruined the "smiling" covington, Kentucky white kid nick sandman's life for being racist when the whole video showed he was trying to respect that fake indian, who was actually the scammer.

When CNN's Chris Cuomo was telling people not to leave their homes and when he supposedly tested positive for the virus he was out on the town getting in fights with local citizens after he said he hadn't left his basement.

When CNN planted reporters at the riots and then staged a fake arrest of one of their reporters who was black.

that's just a few and all those have happened this calendar year.

Iraq: I certainly agree the Iraq war was based on lies. But those lies came directly from the POTUS, VPOTUS, Sec of State, NS Advisor etc. You're angry at the wrong folks for that.

Obama vetting: this is where you lose all credibility with me. As much is/was known about his life and career as could ever be known. He was so clean that they attacked him via his preacher, bill ayers(who he simply sat on some board with and never had any personal relationship) and when that didnt work decided they should just lie about him not being born in the US. There is no "there" there with Obama. As much as many on the right want to hate him he just has never done anything wrong enough to have a good reason to hate him. I understand that's frustrating but hes simply a good honest person.

Really all the rest of your complaints are things the right tried to make real controversies but facts and reality are stubborn. None of what your saying actually happened in the way you want it portrayed...outside the crazed world of the right wing fever swamp.

What you actually want is for "the media" to invent bad news about your perceived enemies. You are asking that these baseless stories be made a big deal when there are no facts to support them.

Your rant is just another Republican, tea party, Facebook list of right wing talking points.

You have more of an issue with facts than you do with the media. You only like the news that supports your existing beliefs.

You should be less sensative about how CNN covers stories. Your interpretation of "sympathizing" is just that...your interpretation.

Also...you should not believe crazy rightwing theories about CNN "planting" reporters to get arrested, native Americans demonstrators being scammers or Chris Cuomo Covid illness timeline.

Over all your complaints are minor and marginal anyway.

There has never been a large manufactured news story "the media" has made from whole clothe. It just doesn't happen.

Are mistakes made? Of course. But this vast conspiracy you see is only in your head.

Like others...you simply dont like information that doesn't reconcile with your own beliefs. It's that simple.

LOL. You just asked for examples of the media getting it wrong and you were provided with 4 recent examples. Predictably, you can't refute the examples so you decided to blow off the examples as minor. Jussie Smollett's situation was so minor , it dominated the national landscape for weeks.

A perfect example of someone simply not liking the information that doesn't reconcile with their own beliefs. You are right though; it is that simple.

I dont know a thing about Coumos health but that is a complaint against Coumo personally, not about news.

Really all the rest of your complaints are things the right tried to make real controversies but facts and reality are stubborn. None of what your saying actually happened in the way you want it portrayed...outside the crazed world of the right wing fever swamp.
Sorry, but those are real.

The IRS did in fact target conservative organizations. Louis Lerner was held in contempt.

Fast n Furious was a real thing where guns ended up in the hands of cartel members who killed a border patrol agent. Eric Holder was in fact held in contempt for refusing to comply with investigations.

Iran/Hezbollah drugs and money scandal. Politico broke this story, but essentially, the investigation was scuttled by the administration to keep the Iran deal afloat. Happened. Media didn’t care.

The VA thing was also real. How many vets died due to lack of treatment from the mismanagement of this organization? Just right wing demagoguery in your eyes I guess.

The FISA fraud is still unfolding, but the original narrative has been destroyed. There was no collusion and the basis for the investigation and subsequent FISA approvals is a farce. Horowitz confirmed this in his report. 17 lies, frauds, or glaring omissions. You actually had DOJ attorneys falsifying documents, Kevin Klinesmith.

That’s just the low hanging fruit.

That’s to say nothing of Treyvon Martin situation that inflamed a nation when editors within the newsroom doctored the 9/11 tape making it appear as a racist act, the invention of a whole new category of people “white hispanic” and the Hand Up Dont Shoot ******** from Ferguson.

I can literally do this all day. Here’s a current one, why aren’t we talking about Cuomo ordering 6000 seniors to their death in NY? It’s not that the media outright lies, though they do....hello Brian Williams, I’m looking at you. It’s what they choose to cover and how they cover it that shows their blatant bias and willingness to subvert truth for their narrative.

It all benefits your politics so asking you to be objective is a bit like asking Vernon to root for Rutgers. You can’t. They’re literally your confirmation bias, and it’s laughable you think this is me bitching about this as anything more than a consumer of news.

Hyping Russian bounties in unconfirmed intel, yet bashing Trump for killing the man responsible for the use of VBIEDs in Iraq that killed how many US military members. It’s lying with the truth through omission of context.

There's no way you read 4 or 5 different versions of a story to come to your conclusions. What you write is strait from the rightwing internet.

Refute literally any single one of those. The fact that you contend they’re all right wing is exactly my point that you’re confirming for me. Those all happened. It’s not even debatable. Here is the after reporting that gets zero attention after the narrative is shaped. And notice the sites I’m using.

Let’s go down the list:

IRS - NPR covering the aftermath.

Fast N Furious: Eric Holder’s contempt

FISA abuse: Kevin Clinesmith

Doctored 9-1-1 tape for Treyvon Martin:

Cuomo:

I assume the Brian Williams stuff speaks for itself. I can also assume the Suleimani and Russian bounty false narratives are fresh enough that I don’t need to spike the football.

Common Sense!!! It would be nice if what you say was the case but it isn't. It all comes down to the fact they can hide the data now or manipulate it for their advantage. Data that was going to the CDC was public, not the case with HHS... This same data will now be sent to HHS and only the data that this administration wants you to see or believe will be released.

Now, it will be almost impossible to fact check these numbers. Look at the other countries that are doing the similar thing (Brazil, China, Russia to name a few). Not the type of company I want my country to be associated with.

What I said was the truth. Not some rando left wing conspiracy.

The data will be properly processed as opposed to the raw unverified data going out and allowing inaccurate narratives to be shaped. For instance, like in FL where multiple clinics were reporting 100% positive test results, and the one most well known that reported 98% positive....checks notes...****, was actually 9.8% positive. Only 89% margin of error.

Feel free to carry on with whatever nefarious conspiracy Trump is up to now in the land of the crazy. Collusion was a lie. Ukraine was a lie. Gen Flynn was a lie. You know who didn’t lie? Literally everyone of Obama’s admins when placed under oath during sealed testimony, all confirming there was no evidence of collusion. Glad that was unsealed and the truth could be known, vs. whatever nonsense they were vomiting out on your favorite networks.

Now, do you want to test my more educated understanding as well? I’m happy to fire about 5 articles right up your conspiracy laden *** if you like. I have them ready, just ask. I’d like for you all to actually be informed for once and not useful idiots for the DNC.

Maybe...just maybe..."the media" is just reporting on a global pandemic that has cost the USA 130K lives and seems to be gaining momentum here the last few weeks again.
Good news -- Deaths across the US are way down from the peak.

Bad news -- New cases are way up.

Neutral news -- hospitalizations are up, but the system is handling it

What is "the media" reporting? What would "the media" be reporting if Obama was president? Be honest with yourself.

(Here is the link to the deaths by day. You have to page down literally 35 times, past graph after graph of "new cases are way way way up!!!!" to see the death curve, which inconveniently goes down)

You’re a poster on a message board posting conspiracies about why data is shifting from the CDC to HHS. Is there more to you than that? Feel free to educate me.

How am I being played? I liked the country being at full employment, lowest historical recorded black/Hispanic//female unemployment. I liked record stock markets. I loved tax reforms. I loved Urban opportunity zones. I loved criminal justice reform seeking to right the ship from the Biden led debacle of the 90s that unfairly targets minorities. I love our geopolitical policy. I love going after China. I loved real wage growth after 2 decades of stagnation. I loved that political discussions centered on economy jobs and market instead of what bathroom to use and your preferred pronoun. I loved the return to issues that matter to everyday working people, not the whining and bitching of special interest groups and who was the most aggrieved.

I assume your “faux” usage was some kind of play on Fox. Why are you attacking the media?

Now, it will be almost impossible to fact check these numbers. Look at the other countries that are doing the similar thing (Brazil, China, Russia to name a few). Not the type of company I want my country to be associated with.
Then you probably shouldn’t be advocating for Biden and trashing Trump. Biden was the point man for Ukraine when Russia annexed Crimea. Of course we all know about the Russian reset hackery, the administration he was VP in literally doing nothing about Russian interference in our last election, and who can forget the famous “the 80s called, they want their foreign policy back” quip from his boss.

With respect to China, Trump is actually putting an asswhipping on them. Their economy was being crushed and manufacturing is leaving in droves. Some returning to the US and other diversifying the region. Biden advocates for China. I’m even old enough to remember when Biden accused Trump of being a racist and xenophobic when Trump shutdown travel from China due to CV-19.

Brazil? What the hell is wrong with them? They’re a major importer of our stuff. That’s just cray cray.

First off, I am not a Biden supporter. SURPRISE!!!

FAUX - means fake, not true. I don't watch FOX or CNN.

You want conspiracies?

Brazil - https://www.wsj.com/articles/brazil...ges-to-coronavirus-data-reporting-11591652332

China - Is a big mess. Not only are they affected but our farmers also took a beating (still are). What businesses have returned to the US from China (I do not know of any, I am actually wondering)? Yes, he shut down travel from China (a little late but he did do it). Why didn't he do the same in regards to the rest of the world hotspots (Italy, Spain, England, Russia, etc....). Why not set an example for everyone by wearing a mask or actually taking this virus seriously?

Good for you, sincerely. I’m not sure how any parent could support that child sniffer and inappropriate toucher, but that’s just me. Uncle Joe is more better termed Uncle Touchy.

Half of the conspiracy list aren’t actually conspiracies. They’ve been proven out. Wire tapping is on there? WTF? We literally learned about the FISA after that tweet where Carter Page had a FISA. Under FISA, there is a thing called the 2 hop rule (reduced from the 3 hop), which means you can electronically surveil anyone within 2 degrees of separation. Page was living in Trump tower and was part of the campaign. Everyone in the campaign was free game under the FISA. That accounts for a bunch of stuff on there. We now know, thanks to Horowitz, the FISA was granted on lies (17 of them), major omissions (violates the woods procedure), and fraud (Kevin Clinesmith falsified an email about Page). That’s all real.

You could wrap all of the Flynn stuff up in this as well. All you need to do is read the filings in the Flynn case and Obama’s DOJ not producing Brady evidence which was exculpatory to Flynn. Literally notes by the investigators who said they didn’t think Flynn was lying. The famous Obama whitehouse meeting where Biden suggested using the Logan Act and Obama said “get the right people on it”. All in the Flynn court docs.

The fact the majority of the public has been led to believe that stuff was conspiratorial nonsense discredits the media. The data is there, you just have to take the time to read it and not allow the media to spin it for you. The OT board is where most of the stuff is posted in raw format, transcripts released from testimony on the hill, court filings, etc. Some of us choose to read it to unwind from work. Suffice to say, the overwhelming media narrative on this whole thing is the actual conspiracy, easily believed because people hate Trump. Useful idiots for the media.

No question that some of that stuff on the wiki list is conspiracy related, but fun to read about anyway. The Clinton Body Count one is one of my favorite conspiracies. I know it’s not true but damn if I’d want to have dirt on them.

As for companies coming back to the US, I believe Apple was one of them off of the top of my head. There were others. This CV-19 really skylighted how having our entire medical system tied up in China was a bad deal.

Thanks for the link on Brazil. I do take the time to read any link that’s provided when people do it. I’m a consumer of news and like to be informed, either informed of its narrative or spin, or truth. I like to see all sides.

IT'S JUST A MASK. IT'S JUST A VACCINE

“In 4 months, the U.S. transformed into an obedient socialist country. Government dictated what events are acceptable to attend. Violent protests that instill fear are OK but church services, family funerals and patriotic celebrations are dangerous. And you bought it without a fight.

Standing in a graduation line is a "safety hazard". Small businesses were forced to close but crowds to support the corporate money machine at WalMart, Lowes and Home Depot are OK.

Come on. It's "just a mask" & "safety precautions".

How about a little hush money. Here's $2,400 that we stole out of your pay check in the first place. Enjoy. Buy something with it. From a big corporation.

Cash is dirty. We can't give change. There's a coin shortage. Use your card. In 4 months, they convinced you to use a traceable card for everything.

In less than 4 months, government closed public schools then "restructured" education under the guise of "public safety". In less than 4 months, our government demonstrated how easily people assimilate to "guidelines" that have NO scientific premise whatsoever when you are fearful.

In less than 4 months, our government successfully instilled fear in a majority of the population in America that allows them to control every aspect of your life. Including what you eat, where you go, who you see and your toilet paper.

And the most dangerous and terrifying part? People are not afraid of the government who removed their freedom. They're afraid of their neighbors, family and friends.

And they hate those who won't comply.

It's absolutely terrifying to me that so many people don't question "authority". They are willing to surrender their critical thinking skills and independence. They just... gave up without thinking. Without a fight.

Do you know what's coming next?
"It's just a vaccine. Come on. It's for the greater good".

Wait until you're told that you can't enter any store or business without proof of the Covid-19 vaccine. Wait until you can't go to public events or get on a plane without proof of receiving the vaccine.

To everyone that doesn't believe this is possible - DO YOU UNDERSTAND that government successfully dictated to people WHEN they were allowed to be outside, where they were allowed to go, and how their children would be educated in less than 4 months? And that a majority of the population followed blindly because they were told to do so.

You're kidding yourself if you think this behavior won't be repeated with a vaccine. Or whatever the next step is.

"I don't follow politics."
"Who cares about that stuff?"
"I don't like to think about it."

They got you. Without a thought. Without a fight. Just like France. Just like Russia. Just like China. Welcome, comrade.”
