I'm having a hard time getting into the season. Anyone else experiencing this or am I alone? I was excited to see we'd play football even if the season looked different. The LSU win pumped me up a little although I sort of expected we may win the game given the scenario that was playing out (LSU lost a lot, no fans in Tiger Stadium, a new MSU offense, etc...).

I don't know if it's still butt hurt over the Arkansas game or it if it's the lack of game day experience and tailgating this year, but I'm having a hard time giving a damn about this Kentucky game this weekend or any other upcoming games. I just can't break out of this funk.

Not where you are, but funks are real, man. If you can identify stressors and take a break from those and identify things that are restful or relaxing and implement at least one of those on the daily, it can help tamp down funks. I walked away from Twitter, Reddit, and political commentary a couple of weeks ago, and it’s been helpful.

The freaking pumped in crowd noise at DWS took most of my enthusiasm for going to another game there away... but as far as the season as a whole, it’s going to be highs and lows....

I'm with you. Some football is better than no football, but I'm not nearly as into it. I can't get into the fanless stuff AT ALL.....MLB and NFL is just nothing to me right now. College is much better, but still not right.

It's just a sad situation. But it's proven that sports aren't **** without fans.

In your defense...football enthusiasm has had about 100 different buckets of cold water thrown on it this year for everyone. It'll come back but it may take a while.

It’s difficult to maintain enthusiasm after losing to a terrible Arkansas team.

But it’s been stated by many on this board, this is “Leach football” and we shouldn’t be surprised or upset because this is “what we signed up for.”

I will say that I think for me, some of it "may" be the no game day tailgating. Win or lose, it's typically a good day tailgating and we've had WAY better tailgating weather this season that we've had in the past several years, but we're unable to take advantage of it. Then the letdown we experienced last Saturday and it's like I'm just over all of it now.

Kinda sorta. Though I'm very happy to have football, the whole point for me is collect that TV money, grow in the system, keep recruits, and move on to 2021.

In seriousness, I agree with this. Lack of tailgating and gameday atmosphere has put a damper on things this year

Winning cures everything though, if we would’ve taken care of business against Arkansas the feeling would be a lot different this week

Prior to the LSU win, I was excited for SEC football, but not optimistic about our season.

After the LSU win, I was ecstatic enough that I ordered the skull and crossbones flag that was in the wagon video.

After the Arkansas loss, I'm already tired of Leach and his antics. His inability to adapt and his quirkiness drive me insane and the LSU caused me to forgot/overlook that.

I'll watch every snap of every game. And I'll enjoy it. But my pirate ship for the season and the Leach experience took on a Joe Moorhead vs UK-2018 size hole in it after that Arkansas loss. Maybe if Arkansas continues to beat teams, I'll find some peace with it... but that loss is currently a top 5 worst loss in the last 15 years for us.

The Leach roller coaster will be mentally exhausting. I gave up recruiting sites after the Chris Jones roller coaster and haven't been back other than to look at stars/rankings at signing day. I hope the Leach roller coaster doesn't do that to me on watching our games.

2020 sports are not good across the board. From the empty seats to the player opt outs it's just off. I think the biggest thing is that lingering fear that the seasons will not get to finish. I'm sure it will come back to full form, but probably not until stadiums are packed.

Let's see. 2008 - La Tech, 2016 - USA, 2006 - Tulane would definitely be ahead of this loss. I could see an argument for 4 or 5. Personally I might put one or two Egg Bowls ahead, especially in Freeze's first year and 2014 were completely inexcusable.

2016 USA definitely.
2006 Tulane definitely.
2008 LaTech sure.
First Freeze Egg Bowl sure.

2014 OM was a good team. No chance you can rank this one ahead of Arkansas. Maybe more disappointing... not a "worse loss".

I agree, Arkansas L is the most disappointing/embarrassing loss since Croom, outside of South Alabama & maybe 2012 egg bowl.

Arkansas might win 1 more game this year. Maybe

You’re alive obviously.
Have your health, (assuming- didn’t say not).
It’s Fall albeit a little warmer than we would probably all like but not humid, we have football to watch and even attend possibly.
Enjoy it for what it is this year and realize you could be much worse off and or not around(dead) to see your family or football.

All the covid stuff has just given this season a weird vibe. Like it really doesn't matter. I was "meh" until the LSU win and that really got me excited. But the hammer-to-nuts game against Arkansas has me back to square one.

It may be one of the worst 5 teams we have lost to but it’s nowhere near one of the worst 5 performances I’ve seen. We have toted some embarrassing *** whippins where we just didn’t show up. That Tennessee and Auburn loss last year were 2 of the most embarrassing games I’ve ever watched.

I guess you would have to go back to all of these losses and see how big of a favorite we were before crowning this a top 5 embarrassing loss, but those guys in Vegas who had Mississippi State a 18.5 pt favorite probably look at it as a very embarrassing loss.

It’s been great football this year, especially in the NFL. Hate you’re not excited but you’re definitely missing a good product this year, fans or not.

Me too but it's football in general I expected things to rock back and forth for the Dawgs. Example: I was still reading and drinking coffee last Sunday until about a quarter past one. I turned off MNF at halftime.

Haven't watched a minute of the NBA and only a few innings of MLB playoffs.

I have watched more Premiere League than NBA or MLB.

After two games? You would have kicked JWS to the curb early on then as well.

10-19-91 Memphis 28 - MSU 23

09-04-93 Memphis 45 - #23 MSU

10-30-95. LA Monroe 34 - MSU 32

10-21- 96 LA Tech 38 - MSU 23

Then it all changed

11-16-96 MSU 17 - #8 Alabama

I don't think it will take as long because we were down in the ******* when JWS got here. Coach Leach should find and coach players faster.

It was horseshit losing to Ark but it ain't the end of the world.

Football has been great. I feel infinitely more excited about Mississippi State than I did under Moorhead. Losing to Arkansas sucks, but we also had a road win against #6 LSU. I'd take that combination any day over the boring *** games of last year.

Leach teams are big on repetition. I think his offensive scheme is good. It'll get better the longer he's here. There are answers for zone coverage. He'll have more talented teams here than he's ever had. We have what looks to be a very good defensive coordinator.

For the love of God, let's give it some time and enjoy the fact that we're getting to play this season. I am so much more into this season than last year. Our team is much more fun to watch, even in losses.

I mean I’m not October 2014 level hyped up but my excitement level is no different than most years. I’d say I’m more excited about things now than I was at any point between the 2018 Kentucky game and the day Moorhead was fired.

Arkansas is better than you think. Those who watched their game with Georgia knew it was going to be a difficult game for us.
