I was at Friends of Frank when that happened. It was crazy. A light breeze had been blowing all day. Suddenly, the napkins, plates, etc on one of our tables started blowing away like somebody turned on a leaf blower.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the white tent next to us take off. I was standing just under the edge of the red tent when it launched. Several of us tried to grab it but it went up too fast. We were able to catch it on the way down. No idea how no one was injured when it was spinning around. There were at least a dozen people under it at the time. No car damage either. We lost a lot of food but had plenty more. Unfortunately, there was some car damage to the gray tent tailgaters behind us.
When everything settled down, I remembered that i had been wearing a hat when it all started. I looked around with no luck. About 15 minutes later I was checking on the gray tent tailgates and there was my hat on one of their tables. I thanked them for finding it. They said a cop in the White Lot found it on the side of the road and thought it might have come from them. Where the cop found it was at least 200 feet from where I had been standing. Really appreciate him bringing it over.
