haha good one. Meridian better win the 6A title. They have 4 SEC prospects and almost all of them with multiple offers. That's a rare thing in MS football.

No kidding, strat. They have some serious talent, especially on D. If they have just a decent offense, they will probably be the favorite.

I honestly can't remember one HS team signing 4 SEC players. I remember like 2009 Tupelo signing 3 and then PJ Jones the next year.

Maybe one of those early 2000 SP teams?

I remember there was an Olive Branch team that signed several SEC players off one OL. I think that was DRoninson, Lawson, and Shon Coleman.

The 1999 Madison Central team had Stephen Gostkowski, Chris Spencer and Parys Harrelson who all had solid NFL careers. Mike Espy spent a couple of years on the Redskins practice squad, and Doug Buckels made it to an NFL training camp. And the running back, Bobo, signed with Michigan State but didn't do anything there.

You must not be old enough to remember back in the early 70's when Billy Miller coached at Moss Point. We had 8 or 9 starters on defense from Moss Point.

Yeah, but they weren't all SRs together. Harrelson and Gostowski were like a freshman or sophomore in 99.

A WR prospect from Meridian decommitted from OM today and we seem to be the trendy pick for his next destination.

Moss Point.... Yep.... Seems like there were something like 17 Moss Pointers on our roster over about a 6 year period (Tyler days). Ray Costic, etc.

Before he got carried out in a pine box , tubby signed 4 from Amory. Rufus French , joe gunn, Darius "Boone" brown & Reggie smith. Boone left & went to icc & then signed with state. Reggie left too.

I don't think so.

2000 - Buckles
2001 - Spencer & Espy
2002 - Gotskowski & Harrelson

If I had to guess, y'all are the favorites. Crowell is a good one too. This one kind of came out of left field. I wonder if it's related to Lenton committing to UF.

That's not the company line amongst your breathten. 'He's just a 3 star.' 'Were making room for some 4 or 5 stars.' You guys star obsession is pathetic. I honestly think a large portion of your fan base enjoy recruiting more than games.

Uncle Ruckus..... to be honest about it, we get a lot more excited about signing 4 and 5 star guys like Chris Jones or Leo Lewis than we do three star players. Freeze has won two out of three Egg Bowls, so he's not just about recruiting only. Crowell sounds like a solid player and I hope we get him. But it won't be the same as it was flipping Leo Lewis! Do you really think OM fanbase is the only fanbase in America that would rather have 4 & 5 star signees than 3 star recruits??

The kid is suppose to be a really, really good player. I don't care what his star rating is if he's that good. It's the fact that they act like they don't care about him because he was only a three star.

I would imagine he'll get a bump up to 4 pretty soon. Not a shot at OM, but he's been impressive at every camp he's been in this fall.

There is some talk about UF. Hopefully he commits to us soon.

Dan has done a great job of spotting talent that's not highly rated. McKinney, etc.
If we want him and they don't anymore, then that's their loss as far as I'm concerned.

Maybe SSBG, but I'd take the '87 Louisville High team head-to-head against any team in the state that year!

SSBG, no one who really went on to much acclaim beyond high school...and when I went back and looked, I was actually thinking of the '85 and '86 teams that won back to back state championships...a lot of people forget (or don't know), that Louisville has 8 state championships...plus, just wanted to give a little love to my hometown

I was just about to say... being an OM fan, I would have thought that he'd be more concerned with wins versus their true rivals than the silly little egg bowl
