Cal also stated that he told his parents that there was no guarantee that he would get ANY playing time.

Sounds like he will STILL be in Cal's doghouse.
honestly I wouldn't come back to that. The only way I'd come back is if I knew I'd be blackballed and end up at some tier 2 school. Not that a kid should expect guarantees or get them, but I just don't believe its been long enough for him to get his head right. Why come back to just be in the same position you weren't happy about when you left?

At this point, I think Cal needs to give him some real PT and see if he's ready to be an impact player and if not, he needs to be mature enough to understand he will continue to develop for next season and beyond. I don't see him being better than Jackson or Toppin, though would loved to be proven wrong.

Guaranteed he will get more minutes than Allen. Cal doesn’t want the National Media to have another story. He will want it to be that he’s willing to give a kid a second chance.

Allen will never get a first chance.

Mystery injury to be reported in 3, 2,1.

Toppin has clearly passed him, he better be ok with riding the pine and improving in practice.

At this point I would pull a Joe B move and shake things up by starting Toppin at C and Fletcher and Brooks at F and Allen and Mintz at Guard.
Well based on performance the lineup should be Askew, Mintz, Toppin, Ware Jackson. No way in hell Cal benches Boston though, Clarke should not play until 100% and should just be a rotation player.

1. He made a commitment
2. He’s a freshman and needs to earn his time. He can take the typical 4 years like most players if needed
3. He made a commitment.

yea, Fletcher strikes me as the kind of player that will be all in on that [eyeroll]
Kids should always learn to live up to their word. To expect otherwise causes kids to underachieve in life. It’s our job to set high expectations for our children.

If we were 7-0 and kicking butt Cam wouldn't be back on campus.

I neither agree nor disagree on an assumption on possible futures based on different outcomes.

Kids should still have high expectations placed on them for their own future successes. Whether he got that or not I have no idea, but he should have.
