If he's smart, he should go. No defense in Power 5 will lose more combined starts to graduation. 5 players alone in their front 7 have started almost 40 games in their career. Its a staggering accomplishment.

9 guys will be gone after this season, and as many as 4 of them will likely get drafted.

Fleck will never be as marketable as he is in 2019.

A lot of Minnesota's best players are returning. Fleck has already upgraded the recruiting....and the veteran players didn't play this well before he arrived. Plus their leading tackler, a senior, didn't play vs. Penn State.

Minnesota can match any salary....and Fleck can win big right where he is.

Can they match the no-state-tax that Florida has???

The two biggest mistakes in coaching...

1. Staying in one place
2. Not leaving when you can

PJ needs one more contract and he can NEVER WORK AGAIN...but he also knows that one more contract, even with TOTAL FAILURE, means a gig on TV.

He is not going to coach for 30 more years...he is coaching for 5 - 10 more years tops...then he is on TV or a Podcast.

Not correct. They graduate their top RB, their top WR, their top DL, their best linebacker. They return a good RB, a good WR and a good saftey. Lot's, lot's to replace next year.

If Fleck gets offered he would be dumb not to take it. You may only get one chance in life to get a job like FSU and if it is there, you take it if you never coched at a big school like Oklahoma, Nebraska, Ohio State, USCw, etc.

Fleck is only 38 years old. If he got a job like FSU he could do that for a very long time and complete for something at the national level. He ill never get that chance at Minnesota. It literally took more than 100 years to go from a 9-0 start to the next 9-0 start. Millions of people born and died in that timeframe.

So...yes, I agree with what you said about what I said.

I can totally see this as well. He really is suited for television in some defined way or another. Completely agree he is not going to remain a football coach the rest of his life. He would be smart to take new opportunities and eat it while it's hot.

He can go make great money, after already striking it rich, working 3 months a year.

If Frost ever gets Nebraska turned-around, if he ever gets his stock high....he'd be crazy not to bolt to a better school. Why stay in a barren wasteland where there aren't any recruits? FSU, USC...so many other much better options. And for more money. Fleck...he loves the challenge of coaching. One of his mottos is "I eat difficult situations for breakfast.". Frost...he'd be more likely to take the bigger money elsewhere, and then get a cushy TV gig.

Doesn't matter if he signed it or not. If FL state wants him it won't matter.

Frost is already one of the highest-paid coaches in college football. If he gets Nebraska turned around, who is going to be able to out-bid us?

You know he already had those kind of offers when he chose to come to Nebraska, right? He’s not here for that stuff, he’s here because it’s home. His parents are a short drive form the stadium, his mentor watches practice, etc.

First of all fleck signed the extension. Alot of fsu guys are dumb to not even research. The board of regents approved it this week & even said it wasn't enough. Fsu guys are spreading rumors. Contract is in effect & its gives him no way out the 1st year

No way out? The buyout jumps from $4M to $10M on Dec 13. That is not “no way out”.

Fleck makes the same as Frost. Well $4.6M vs $5M per year. Only 8 coaches make much more. Minnesota is not going to let anyone outbid them for Fleck.
