This is not getting new coach and eating salary..

Get 4 or 5 top tier Transfers or 4/5* lineman.
How? 5@ 750k or 4 @1M NIL deals.

& New OC to replace Sean salary(1M) with up to additional 1M for top tier or use extra !M
to get additional QB coach and new OC.

If angry boosters would consider buying out HC, then they could do this 1 year and see if it turns around. Defense is good enough, offense needs line & coaching kids up.

If Greg is not on a rolling 8 year guarantee, then after next year he would have 4 years left on contract which is rolling standard for college coaches. No big issue for buy out.

Also 1 more year gets more revenue to have booster cover NIL & we have other funding for what booster was covering for 5M.

Unfortunately, Rutgers doesn't have a T. Boone Pickens.
What boosters are going to put up 5 million?

Any 4 or 5 star o-lineman that's in the portal is a bust. The coaching here isn't good enough for them to be successful reclamation projects. If they played to their ranking, they'd be starters at their current schools and wouldn't be in the portal at all.

Im not saying a 4* in the portal. I meant, either a HS 4* prospect or lineman in the portal.

There are better lineman available in the portal than in our program. Can we compete as-is for them, no.. but put a package for each for 750k-1M and the likelihood of getting 4 transfers goes WAY up. There are lineman with 1-2 years of eligibility that want a chance to play elsewhere or get better degree.

What boosters? Any that would be approached when decision is made to move on to cover cost of new coach or severance $.

Or from increased revenue share, we tell boosters donating 5M total to put towards NIL & use increased revenue to cover what they were donating towards.

5M is easier to obtain than a 16M buyout or 12 or 8, etc.

Sure let me get out my checkbook again to support that program I watched yesterday. This time to give money directly to young men who will probably leave the next year when the next NIL is offered.

I get it. But, what is a cheaper way to fix our offensive issues? People will say get a new coaching staff. Well going rate is 9M per season + we owe current staff 15- 20M?

9M @ 5 years is 45 +
15M to switch = 60M to fix with new staff before assistant pool increases. Then we still need staff that can out recruit other schools with NIL $.

Nobody wants to throw good money after bad, but 5M is a fraction of other options & may be the new norm for competing.

Fickell is heading to Wisc. Neb just landed Rhule. USC is coming, things won't be easier or cheaper moving forward.

Didn’t think anyone hit Megamillion on Friday. Will have to wait until Tuesday’s drawing.

It going to take a lot more than $5 million.

1. $1 million is about average these days for a P5 coordinator. You are going to have to over pay get any quality candidate to work for a micromanager and take over a dumpster fire.

2. Once again why would a lineman want to play for such a dumpster fire Oline. Once again you are going to overpay.

3. You still have a major hole at QB. You be better off spending some of that money to find a qb that is not a turn over machine and can complete more than 50% of his passes.

4. Lack any threat at receiver/te. There are no real game changers there.

5. Need depth at rb.

Also see Texas A&M they bought a top class and still was below .500. It take chemistry and coaching. Not just money fed egos.

Yup
This is the only way you get a P-5 player in demand with options.
It’s also the only way you get a high school player with P-5 offers and options.
Caroo, AD, Hamilton, Zuttah, Britt…just to name a few names from 1.0 would all be demanding sizable money today out of high school.
Boring to me…..

1m is same salary, addition 1M allows for OC 1.5 & 500K QB coach

2. Once again why would a lineman want to play for such a dumpster fire Oline. Once again you are going to overpay.
Play in B1G from lesser program last 1-2 years for late bloomer to increase draft stock

3. You still have a major hole at QB. You be better off spending some of that money to find a qb that is not a turn over machine and can complete more than 50% of his passes.
Can't solve world peace with 5M either. Fix line & other areas get help
4. Lack any threat at receiver/te. There are no real game changers there.

No guarantees no matter what we do.
