Come on man.... I can't agree with you on everything now can I?

Actually, looking back, I think it was because you had Lovie ahead of Fitz. Lovie needs to prove something on the collegiate level before putting him ahead of Fitz who I think is one of the best damn CEOs of a college football program in the country - which is a huge part of the head coach's job.
Hope Lovie doesn't prove something this Saturday.

The list was before the last season.

The B1G has really good. coaches. Outside of Purdue, it is a good bunch. Ash has a lot to prove. Durkin did a good job.

Franklin is the second coming. Now go back to your Ped State board.

Let's please not use the word "coming" in the context of Penn State. It's just too much right now.

I think Franklin got lucky that Hackenberg decided to leave a year early. Hadn't McSorley been sitting behind him for the last two years? Without him, PSU is around .500 again this year.

1. Dantoni
2. Meyer
3. Harbaugh (personality aside)
4. Ferentz
5. Lovie (not sure about recruiting, but from coaching alone, he has been to a super bowl)
6. Fitz
7. Wilson
8. Franklin
9. Chryst
10. Riley
11. Claeys
12. Hazell

I can't rank Durkin or Ash because I've never seen them coach. I was debating between Chryst and Franklin back and forth and gave up.

Here's my take:

1. Harbaugh (SDSU, Stanford, SF and now Michigan - wow)
2. Meyer (this is super close, but I do think Harbaugh may be the best coach in the game today, Meyer is arguably with Harbaugh and Saban top 3 in the game)
3. Dantonio (no way he is better than 1 or 2)
4. Ferentz (based on his overall body of work)
5. Smith - Super bowl, has bumped up Illini recruiting already, they will get better
6. Chryst (look at Wisconsin since he's taken over - look at them this year. Going to Indy)
7. Franklin (not sure why people have him so low or so obviously behind Fitz - he has PSU in the Playoff discussion and in Indy in year 4. Coming off sanctions. A lot better than what Fitz has done to date, I'd say, and perhaps should be ahead of Chryst come to think of it given that he is in the East and with what he was handed)
8 Fitz (how anyone can put him above the top 7 is beyond me - he has zero Division titles, much less B1G titles. Neither does Lovie, but Lovie went to the Super Bowl)
9 Wilson (not sure I wouldn't put him above Fitz. Offensively, he's top tier and he's brought IU up a notch, something I'm not sure we can say definitively about Fitz)
10 Riley (consistently solid, but nothing spectacular at Nebby)
11 Claeys (not a bad year for Minny and he beat us this year, but need to see more)
12 Durkin (got Maryland to a bowl, I think he'll end up moving up before it's over)
13 Ash (not a lot of info, but Rutgers sucks)
14 Hazell (awful and now gone)

8 is actually not that bad. There are some really good coaches in the B1G.

Interesting. Looking at just this year, on the Big Ten Network, Mason chose Chryst for this year's Coach of the Year. Also on one of the BTN panels Fitz was in the conversation for what he accomplished by "coaching" a one and three team to its present success.

Chryst is 4 in my book. Lovie looked like his was collecting a check this year. He doesn't move up until he actually does something at the collegiate level.

+1
It doesn't matter what Lovie did in the past. Given that logic, Bill Foster who took Duke to the Final Four was the best NU coach.

Franklin out coached Meyer in the 4th quarter. Ferentz out coached Harbaugh in the 4th quarter. Franklin out coached Ferentz. Franklin is going to Indianapolis before Harbaugh goes. Not bad for a used car salesman.

If you want to bring up Sandusky then I will go with it. Do you own, getting taking to the showers?

It is funny that you think you are taking the high road by bringing up child abuse but you think it is gross when I go with it.
Oh no - I'm not taking the high road.

Ped State's history of enabling rape is shameful. If we don't talk about it, who knows whether Ped State or someone else will do it again.

What's shameful is that Ped State - which gained national and international acclaim largely by turning a blind eye to decades of child rape - suffered hardly at all as an institution. A few individuals are in jail, but a culture of denial has been allowed to continue.

You and your friends shouldn't be celebrating a win this weekend. You should be lamenting that your football program and university enabled a child rapist, leaving you with another football-less Saturday.

PSU took you to the showers and you are upset. At this point you can't debate football or coaching.

31-7
I cannot tell you how badly your team and school are universally loathed. You don't care or are in denial. You care more about a football game played by amateurs than about a cover up of child rape. You are the Bill Cosby of universities, surpassed only by Baylor (who seems to at least acknowledge the issue). The worst day in the history of the conference was when we let your program and its fake-clean coach into the B1G, forever lumping us in with the $EC

I would prefer that NU refuse to play your despicable school (if you attended), and take a forfeit.

Wait there is one way to tell you how much I despise your school. Board members here will understand me gritting my teeth to say this: "Go Blue!"

Too early to tell on Lovie. Adds instant credibility for the program, but that doesn't mean he'll adapt to being a HC at the college level, which is more about sheer force of personality than anything else.
Supposedly Lovie, ranked #5 and family really don't like living down Champaign way. He's always spoken well about Chicago, so does anyone think he would coach at Chicago's Big Ten Team?

I actually have met a lot of PSU alums that find it despicable. In fact most of the people I met last Saturday. They just got caught in the slime that was their program and ultimately Joe's legacy. Many thought the penalties were too light for the school they went to and some even played at.

The Ped State jokes are getting old, but it doesn't negate the fact that this happened and numerous people in charge did nothing. You get idiots like Zwicker who come to the opposing board to ridicule other schools after a PSU win and then gets sensitive to the obigitory Sandusky posts. Why not just post on your own board, Pal. We don't need you here.

Zwicker reaction just promoted more Ped State references. If he would ignore, the references would slow down and eventually cease. Clearly he is a moron. I doubt he graduated from PSU or any other accredited university. What a dumb ***.

On the other hand .... Franklin is all personality and little substance. And yes I agree with what CCF said about PSU fans wanting Matt Rhule, Temple's coach.
Franklin wins and recruits. He got his team #3. If we are going with production on the field then Franklin is #1. He won a bigten championship and just missed the playoffs last year and is kicking *** this year.
If we are ranking them holisticly then Fitz blows them all away with the his continuing world record of longest streak with the same coaches.

Do you own getting taking to the showers.

PSU's mistake was hiring a Northwestern grad as President. Spanier had policies in place and Paterno followed those flawed policies. Paterno reported the rumors to Spanier who did nothing. I guess that is the NOrthwestern culture.
Old Joe ran the university. he supposedly said he had never heard of child rape and that coming from a supposedly religious man and guess never hearing about catholic priests. he did not report the incidents as rapes and new about Sandusky for years. Pen.St. Gave Sandusky the key to the athletic/rape rooms and allowed him to travel with the team and bring a child with him to away games, even when wasn't coaching any longer. Football program should have been totally shut down for 4 or more years. How is that statue going, that honoring the rape facilitator?

1. Meyer ... instant impact coach who can win big games. Only coach in BIG that can recruit straight up vs. Saban.
2. Harbaugh ... instant impact coach even at Michigan.
3. Dantonio ...2016 drops him from 1st to 3rd. Still a Top 10 coach in the Country.
4. Chryst ... Wisconsin is way better than it should be and a legit Top 5-7 team. Candidate to move down next year.
5. Fitz ... Does more with less and receives bonus consideration for players' academic/career achievement.
6. Ferentz ... consistently develops what Iowa can recruit at a very high level.
7. Riley ... excellent coach and great man. Candidate to move up soon in this pecking order.
8. Wilson ...excellent offensive coach and questionable guy. Program has consistently improved.
9. Claeys ... His Gophers were very well prepared vs. NU this year.
10. Franklin ... He can recruit ... and that's really important. Will be off the list when PSU cans him 2-3 years from now.
11. Lovie ... NFL coaching career not a good indicator of collegiate success. 2016 Illini still bad. Candidate to move up if he stays.
12. Hazel ... Great guy ... worth taking a chance on. Not a program builder.
13. Maryland ... TBD
14. Rutgers ... TBD

GOUNUII

We are way too forgiving and homerific. This does more with less BS has to stop. Look at Collins recruiting a top 20 class (currently) and in the upper half of the B1G to finish. The trajectory is what we should expect - not the flat line of the Carmody and Fitz/Walker years. Fitz has his $200m facility a history at NU where no recruit today was born before we were winning B1G championships (3 in 6 years mind you). Fitz does more with less? I'm not sure you can even say that. He is doing less with more right now, and if we have less, it's his fault because he is in charge of recruiting. You can't begin to tell me that schools like IU, Minnesota, Illinois or Purdue have advantages over NU in recruiting. Well, you could, but you'd then you would be spewing complete bullcrap out of your mouth. And Iowa and Wisconsin are able to take similarly ranked recruits and turn them into NFL players and B1G champions or contenders. Don't get me started on fricking Rutgers.

He is gone, again. That bastard has been banned multiple times for posting racist comments on the rant board. He is not a Penn State fan visiting the board. He is a racist troll.
