First Trip to Hawks Field

I am going to Hawks field for my first Husker baseball game this weekend.... When should I get there and what are some recommendations as far as tailgating goes? Good atmosphere to tailgate? Any and all recommendations for the day are appreciated. We are going on Saturday to watch the Penn State game.

Not much help because I've only been to one game but it is a good tailgating atmosphere, we didn't cook or anything but we got there an hour early, bought our tickets and just drank in the parking lot and talked to people. Highly recommend it and I'm thinking I might have to pop down for pedo state

2 hrs in the parking lot with a cooler. Northeast corner with the player's parents and families is the deal. Doesn't get any better.
