I'm shocked at the swiftness of this. I'm going to guess the length will depend on further investigation of the situation by MSU & law enforcement.

Only 4 players? 3 of them backups? Nah they chose scapegoats. Time for the Big 10 to step i

The question is for how long.
They all deserve a season ending suspension from the Big Ten and possible dismissal from the program depending on the police investigation.

This was not a fight in the heat of the game, but a cowardly gang-style attack on two isolated players.

Pretty sad that after all these years in the B1G we have fans rooting for suspensions so that we have a chance, and just a chance, to be competitive with the likes of Michigan State, not UM, OSU, or PSU, but MSU.

yes sad but true

You are the first one mentioning "so that we have a chance, just a chance to be competitive." Why bring in UM, OSU and PSU? Is your loathe seeping through? Weird post. What's right is right. I wouldn't care if we already played MSU. Suspend everyone who was involved in that nonsense.

My loathing for the position the program finds itself in after all of these years in the B1G and all the wasted opportunities, I would agree with that, believe it or not everything is not about your hero.

WTF are you talking about "my hero?" Your posts get weirder by the post. Try to stay on topic. If there is something else you want to discuss, maybe in another thread, or start a different thread. Genuinely confused by your hero reference. I'm the only hero I know of, and nobody measure up. 😉 👊

Again, you spiral further down. WTF are you babbling about? I had a fantastic night.

Are you going to answer the the my hero question? If you mean Schiano, far from it. You can check my posts. I support the current coach, just like I did with the previous two, but none of them were my heroes. I got lambasted for defending Flood, someone I will still defend and who at least put out a semblance of an offense on the field. But he had a bunch of other problems that justified his firing.

Actually as bad as MSU has been that might improve the team since some of them are starters.

I support Rutgers first, last, and forever, I do not worship individuals.

Betting on a 1 game suspension so I doubt it affects our game. Then again I didn’t think they’d suspend Juwan Howard as long as they did so who knows.

IIRC from the Michigan basketball fight, the B1G can only suspend a player 2 games. Anything else has to be the school's decision. Tucker could be doing what's right or trying to get ahead of any suspension that the conference would impose.

I don’t think it’s a matter of rooting for a competitive advantage as much as it’s holding kids accountable and teaching them life lessons while attending college. Actions have consequences, and there was FAR more than 4 MSU players involved in that assault.

Some things are bigger than football, and it’s a shame that Michigan state appears to be trying to get away with the bare minimum in order to remain competitive from a football standpoint rather than teaching and molding all of these young men by showing them all that their actions have consequences. The whole situation is a punk move by msu

I'm thinking that the speed of these suspensions is because those are the players that can't hide. And that MSU hopes their swiftness shows how decisive and not tolerant of this sort of behavior.

But, they really just want it to go away and not get deeper into their program.

Weird take on this as I haven't heard anyone bring this into the conversation. And even weirder to put it on KS and somehow- Schiano in a thread like this.

Wow that’s wild they can only suspend 2 games. If it’s 2 games for basketball its probably 1 game for football.

I'm confident the vast majority of posters on this board would want to see suspensions even if the offending team was not on our schedule this season. Getting any possible competitive advantage as a result, while it would be appreciated by me, has no bearing on wanting to see a forceful punishment handed down. This should NEVER be tolerated.

We had a kid shoot paint balls and people on here wanted him gone. Like in forever, never comeback, kicked out of school.. You’re barking up the wrong tree with this fan base.
Get ready for the arguments for/against the severity of both offenses.

As crazy as it sounds, I think MSU's success last season could be a total program killer. I refuse to believe Tucker is a good coach (starting with his 2 games against RU). I think he struck absolute gold with Kenneth Walker last year and will never replicate that performance.

That contract they gave him is the ultimate killer.

They’ll get at most 2 games nothing more. If it were Rutgers players their season would be over. For years we have seen this policy especially at schools with history and cred.

Why? That seems like a normal fan.
It's a weird, irrelevant perspective through which disagreement means unloyal worship and requires you to express your unwavering loyalty to the proper thing. Let me give you an example to better explain it for you. Imagine that someone rings your doorbell, you open the door, and on the other side is someone in full knight regalia. He then asks you whether you are loyal to the realm and do not worship false gods. After you quickly close the door, you will turn to your wife and say, "Well, that was weird."
