Taking the fam to their first husker game. My first spring game. What time do the gates open? Are there any other activities for the kids? Anything different vs a normal game?

Didn't see it mentioned in this article, but gates typically open 90 minutes before kickoff.

Also, I have never done it. Do you need any kind of special pass to be down by the tunnel walk or can anyone go there. My kids would love that.

Usually the kids activities are just north of the track, on the practice turf. Have done them before for spring games, but have also seen when they didn't have it. As for the tunnel walk area, no special pass is needed unless you want inside the ropes. You can also go down there after the game. Some of the players will toss out there gloves, sweatbands, etc to a few lucky kids. Enjoy it! The spring game is an incredible opportunity for the kids to see the Huskers!

Great thing for kids to experience Nebraska football. I attended many as a child in the 70s with my Dad. Havent been to a Spring game since 2003. Used to be about 12,000 - 25,000 fans. Mostly hardcore fans to see new players off a red shirt. Would sit wherever we wanted. The only crazy crowd I remember was 98 for Frank's first season when it approached 65k.

TIP for young kids, if you are in North Stadium area anyway now, is do the post "game" tunnel as most players will give or throw swag to the young fans along the path. sweat bands and gloves are always cool.........scored my nephew a "wristy" - as he called it, from Will Compton after a game.

Thanks for the tips and info. My oldest(9) has been asking to go for a couple years. So he started asking about going again as soon as the season was over. lol He got to visit the stadium a few weeks back for his class field trip and thought it was awesome. He will get more out of it than by 2 girls, but they are also excited to go I think. Should be a good family time.
