Worst place to be is in the middle. It sucks to get a guy like Skenes who was plug and play when the rest of the roster wasn't ready and you feel like you can't ship him out for more prospects. They are just going to lose with him and then ship him out at the deadline for much less value. Makes me wonder why MLB teams never trade the top pick for a number of prospects. Just admit you aren't ready to win and let somebody else get skenes.

They may not play in 2027. The league needs a salary cap. And the Reds need a new owner.
