This is a very winnable but tough game today, on the road. The last time these two teams played, NU knocked off the Terps in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament. But I'm sure we all still remember NU playing at Maryland in 2015, when Dez Wells got the tip-in to win it at the buzzer.

Anthony Cowan is the guy to watch for Maryland, leading the Terps in scoring (16.2) and assists.

Defense looks AWFUL. The communication isn't there. Maryland is making shots, sure, but it's mostly because they've found holes. NU is lucky this isn't a rout thanks to a couple 3s from Law and Skelly.

NU is looking okay early -- it's just that Maryland hasn't missed a shot yet. The Terps are 5-5 and lead 14-8 at the under-16. Huerter already has 9.

They haven't missed a shot because they've been wide open.

They're fine. They've forced three turnovers already. It's just that Maryland hasn't missed yet. Cowan hit a LONG 3 that you'll give him all day, and Huerter got a lucky break on a 3, too, when it bounced high off the rim and then went down.

We have had some open 3’s and never seem to hit them. This is one of the worst shooting teams to date
