Yes, and I see where that comes from. Wanting to beat in state rival, and I don't have a problem with that by any means, and it should be our top 5 goals every season

BUT.......

MY intention was that we honor our past "knock their tally-whacker in their watch pocket defenses"......and always be known for a defense that will beat you up.

BY NO MEANS did I say a grind the ball run offense......that has to be a facet of our offensive production, but Leach & Mullen showed that pass happy O can get you where you want to be. <I would love the production of a Leach Air Raid that allowed run production when needed> (meaning we are air raid, but if a D is going to give us run production, we will exploit it to the maximum).

in concept, we need to take the "money ball" approach, and have a "COO" that goes out and recruits and gets the talent needed for a hard nosed "no 17's given" Head Coach that can pull team chemistry together, and go win

The two best coaches in my lifetime were Jackie Sherrill and Dan Mullen. Both of those guys had a swagger and confidence that I think rubbed off on the players. With both of those guys you could tell a major difference in year one, even in the losses. Both of those guys put effort into building excitement around the team. I remember Jackie and his Mad Dawg kick coverage team built from rowdy walk-ons. Dan did a great job building support with the road dawg tours.

Lebby would have been much better as either OC or HC, but not both. It is very stressful to have to do both jobs effectively. And that mistake is on ZS. I hope we don't make that mistake again.
