His special teams almost cost us the game. How he is still employed is a major head scratcher.
The answer is the same as why Sat is still being paid by the university. Hopefully this is taken care of properly in the off-season.

I don't know stats or anything, but the fact that Utah State, Wisconsin, and Nebraska (two separate stints) all made him ST coordinator tells me he probably knows a thing or two. No way he could be a downgrade at this point.

I don’t know why people are upset with Foley. I believe he has been given at least three game balls this season, unfortunately by opposing teams.

Ed Foley is the worst coach to ever coach football at Nebraska. He makes Coz and Diaco look like Frank Broyles winner.

But he won’t be fired. Just moved.

First of all I thought Ed Foley was a lot older. He is only 57 years old. I was browsing the web and I see the World-Herald has an article titled , Matt Rhule: “Total overhaul of special teams coming……” I do not subscribe to the paper. Did anyone read it and what does it say?

A snippit.

And then special teams, we need a complete and total overhaul of that. We have to be better at that. I always put those things on my shoulders, we'll get it done. But it has not been good enough this year."

No, his contract ends 12/31/24.

Reminder… Fat *** Foley makes $550k a year and let’s not forget the assistant special teams coach that is paid $85k a year.

WTF!!!
Sounds to me like the athletic department needs DOGE.

Matt Rhule needs to hire another "consultant" and then move Foley somewhere else and have the new consultant coach special teams.

I thought assistant coaches had 2 year contracts . Am I mistaken? Did he not get an extension?

2 year contract ends on Tuesday, so they have to sign another 2 year contract with the exception of Holgorsen who has already been signed as offensive coordinator..

Which tells me that a lack of extension of his contract at this point, at least publicly disclosed, is telling us that Foley will not be retained in his current position and he is deciding on whether to accept the demotion or will make a choice to move along.

They had 10!! blocked kicks/punts this year-
That has to be a ncaa record
Blocked kicks had a lot to do with bad snap or catching the snap or both, when at didn’t happen we were converting.

But getting that many blocked punts was totally inexcusably..

I have never seen such an awful special teams coach. His unit turns routine plays into game-altering disasters.
Ineould like to see a media member actually grow a pair and ask Rhule about Foley. No reason he should be gettimg over 500k or be coaching at all for Nebraska.

And I believe that Satt has one year left - he had an initial 3 year contract because he was such a great catch in 2022:(

I was thinking that 2 year contracts were extended each year rather than just a simple 2 year contract. I'll gladly be wrong. Barthel could be on the hot seat as well. RBs got better after DH got here which speaks volumes to me
