What if we lose for the next 2 years trying to wait and see. I just not buying into a long term patience project with this coach. I believe He came in with possibly the best situation ever of any MSU coach in recent history and He has already muffed it. He would not bench Nick Fitz last year, but He rejects KT, starts TommyS hurt then benches him, and could have lost GS who was trying to make first down on KSU. I won't wait. Too much misery....

Welp, if you’re not willing to wait Mr. Thompson, I don’t know what to tell you. Bama has a large bandwagon, maybe you could go there until you start following whichever program Keytaon transfers to.

You're missing my point... The original poster said Cohen and crew were trying to buck the established system of losing to the big boys. They wanted to try "something different" to get over the hump. The way I see it, not many people are beating the big boys so I reduced it down to wins and loses... I don't care what past history is. My question is, based on what you've seen... Would you be more shocked if he won only 5 games... Or won 11 games. Do you believe, base on his coaching abilities, that he can win 11 games? No one has answered that question yet. Everyone just gives history lessons oh what our past record is... Not what they think that stupid 17 can actually do. If you think he can win 11, then you're saying you think he's ready to go toe to toe with Bama, LSU, and Auburn.

Hint: he can't. I don't give a **** who we have on our roster. The guy has shown that he can't manage a game. Way to sloppy... Way to unorganized... Just not smart enough.
Honestly you have no point. Nobody, not even Cohen, expects him to sniff anything close to 11 wins until year 4 or 5 minimum. It's called building a program.

What have I seen that makes me think he can do it? Well he won big at Fordham. And he turned Penn State around. And he's been recruiting well so far. He adjusted his system last year. So we will see.

If we lose for the next two years then Joe will be fired. But you can't fire a guy based on "what if". You have to let the situation play itself out and give the guy at least a little time to prove himself. You're free to have your own opinions on how this year and next year will play out, but Joe is definitely going to be here for at least that long and that's just something that everyone will have to accept. If he's going to be here anyway, might as well hope for the best and see if he can prove the doubters wrong.

That's telling it cut and dry, straight with no chaser. Moorehead right now does not display the characteristics of a rising innovative coaching mind so why is our fanbase not yelling louder. Although it still was a botched-it, Tennessee stopped their AD from hiring Greg Schiano after it was agreed to, and later chose Jeremy Pruitt. Our guy is down 1 already, we lose to KY or TN then we are worse off than both this season. Somebody send me John Cohen email address....

You’re really going to use Tennessee as an example for how fans should impact the program?

Saban would struggle to win 5 like he did in the NFL

He sure as hell ain't gonna win 11 games with all the suspensions and injuries we are having this year. We don't have the luxury of a bench full of 5 stars to replace players with. Winning 9 with this team would be a challenge for the great and wonderous all seeing Saban. No matter what you think this is not a talent laden team.

Because he requires a stacked deck to win. Anybody could win 9 with 23 4 and 5 star players being brought in every year. Money talks!

anyone who thought we were going to win 8 with losing 3 1st rounders, and 10 suspensions, was living in fantasy land.

I don’t think this is true at all.

Expecting to win these:
ULL
USM
KState
Tennessee
Arkansas
Abilene Christian
Ole Miss

Plus one of these:
Kentucky
Auburn
Texas A&M

Doesn’t really register as living in a “fantasy land”.

I was hoping for Kentucky also and one of Auburn or A&M. No more tho. Who knows now
At the beginning of the season, even with suspensions, that’s how I would have picked.

Right now, I think we’re 0-3 or maybe 1-2 depending on how weakened Kentucky is.

Everytime Dan lost a game, there'd be posters calling for his head too.

I was curious about the temperature of the board after the USA loss in 2016.

Collectively, there were surprisingly fewer requested beheadings than I expected. A lot of lamentation, but few calls for blood.

Read starting around page 1272.

There are some gems though.

I need to know today whether the MSU faithful are confident in the new direction of our Football program. I don't have millions of dollars to endow to the university, but I do love My State. John Cohen made a great baseball hire 2 years ago with Lemonis with a team of talent and they were right back to Omaha. This Football coach comes in "Stacked with Defensive Talent" marginal offense but underperforms by most accounts. To all you True Maroon alums, students, fans or friends; how long should the downward spiral last...Again Bob Tyler (down) Emory Bellard (Up) Rocky Felker (down) Jackie Sherill (Up) Sylvester Croom (down) Dan Mullen (Up)….. now you tell what comes next???

If you think the program was down with Tyler, you need to look at what was going on during the tenure of Charlie Shira. From all accounts, a great guy, but Croom like in his inability to coach.
