Fayette County Superintendent Demetrus Liggins submits resignation

According to a communication received by WKYT, a special called meeting will take place on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. to address the resignation of Superintendent Demetrus Liggins and to dicuss interim district leadership.

Now school board members Tyler Murphy, Amy Green, and Penny Christian need to submit their resignations. They allowed this guy to stay here way to long and always enabled him with a 3-2 vote on anything he wanted.

In a statement to LEX News Tuesday, Demetrus Liggins said that he has not resigned and remains in the position of superintendent of Fayette County Schools.

"I have not resigned. I remain the Superintendent of Fayette County Public Schools," Liggins said. "I have only requested that the Board engage in discussions regarding a potential separation agreement."
