....and I have questions.

1) How did someone sell the athletic department on chairbacks that have to be screwed directly into the metal of the bleachers?

2) Did they allow this because they're already planning on replacing all the bleachers in the not-too-distant future (which honestly is probably close to overdue anyway)?

3) When someone doesn't want their chairback next year and they unbolt it, is the hole in the metal going to leave rough edges to snag and tear fabric?

I really don't understand the change in the chairbacks. These new ones are not better. I feel like I'm sitting above and in front of the person next to me.

Yeah, they're definitely not as comfortable as the previous ones. I wont be paying for them next year.

I completely agree as this was our first game with our chairbacks also. Are these things designed for a 6' tall 95 lb woman that has to run around in the shower to get wet? I understand that I'm not exactly a small guy but I was literally sitting on top of the people in front of me. My knees were touching the chairback seats in front of me and was constantly apologizing every time I had to move because my legs were going numb.

How can you approve a set that only extends half the depth of the bleacher? I will not be renewing my seat for next year unless they change the design. Honestly I'm debating on telling them to remove them for the remaining two games.

I am a small guy, and they are literally a pain in the *** for me too. Not sure what I was sitting on but felt like sitting in a child’s swing when the chain is digging into the side of your buttcheek

Some of you people kill me. The new seats are awesome. Much better than the old ones. They’ll be cooler in the hot weather, they won’t soak up rainwater after a downpour and much larger and more comfortable.

I'd really like to see us go to all chairback seating stadiumwide - real chairbacks, not screw-ons. I think that's an important part of continuously improving the gameday experience.

Still do not have mine. However the entire lower level of the West side needs a lot of work and does not appear in good condition. The concrete is all cracking and very deteriorated looking. Half of the metal bleachers have issues. The gaps between the sections of bleachers are supposed to have metal pieces over them to keep someone from getting fingers or whatever caught in the gaps, half are missing. The steps are too high and nearly impossible for a left people to climb. They are just old and in bad shape.

Agree, the new chairbacks are smaller than the old ones. In this new woke culture, maybe I can claim that the smaller chairbacks are giving me insecurities due to my fat *** which might result in the administration moving me to a suite. Worth a try.

I don't understand screwing them in either, as that is likely to be problematic unless they are indeed planning on replacing the bleachers. I would be much more in favor of an upgrade to all chairbacks like an NFL stadium even if we lose some capacity.

Since they are bolted forward, it does cause issues with the knees, even for a modest sized man.

I understand that the mesh might "breathe" better and not collect water, but they are still a big downgrade from the previous ones.
