Next year during exhibition games I’d like to see Bilas, JWill, Walton and others ref the games and the refs do color commentary. I think it would be funny.

I think we need string minutes from Nick.
We need some post defense against the drive.
The perimeter is obvious, but I suspect we will see TONS of slashing to the rim because we aren’t that strong blocking shots.. and they know we will he focused on guarding the 3 ball.

I have a feeling AU will try to play more physical/intense than normal to compensate for being down a player and/or to try to match up better, which will likely affect their ability to make shots as the game goes on. Also wondering how well AU is conditioned/rested. Played all those games in the SECT, UK only played 2. Gotta think that makes some difference.

I know Bruce Pearl isn't liked by the majority of our fanbase, (my Mother in Law and Step Father in Law hate the guy with a passion) but he always gives UK credit. Heard two interviews of him over the weekend and both times he said he thought UK was the best team left in the tournament.
That's not an outlandish thing to say, so I don't think he's blowing smoke. I actually happen to agree. Too many people are hung up on the Zion hysteria to understand that we are the best team left. Now it's time to go out and prove it.
Pearl is a very good coach and will have a good game plan. He's working in some different things, per the interviews. I just think we are a terrible matchup for them and we beat them for the third time this season. Cats by 7.

I think the game plan is rather simple. Strict man-to man. Drive them off the 3 point line, do not let them get good looks in transition. If their guards penetrate, do NOT sag off your player, or they will kick it out for a three all day long. Strict disciplined man to man. On offense, pound it into the paint and use our length to our advantage. If they play zone, our guards will make them pay.
Hopefully, winning one for the Gipper/ Okeke will not make them hit every circus shot imaginable.
