The atmosphere in this game is just awful
The crowd sounds like it's hundreds of feet away and murmuring, the broadcast team is so subdued and goes for several seconds with dead air.

Impressed with Auburn. Didn’t think they would hang with VA. Cavs May pull away, but I thought teams like UK and VA would really create problems for Auburn. UK jumped out to a lead that reinforced that belief, but blew it. If VA can create separation then AU won’t come back. But AU has prevented that in a half court game. Well done.

I actually think Auburn is a very tough matchup for UVA....they are long, athletic, have a lot of depth and can speed the game up. I am surprised at how they have done on defense against UVA though.

I don't care for Virginia's style of play. Why run the shot clock down on nearly every possession and be forced to sling up some terrible shot? I doubt Virginia fans care as Tony Bennett has been successful running this style, but it's not easy on the eyes.

Virginia is playing too fast. If they keep tryin to run with auburn and get into a drag race they will definitely lose. Auburn’s shot will start to fall in the second half so Virginia needs to be patient and deliberate with their offense.

Whichever team could get a little spurt could take control of this game. I like Auburn's chances.

Auburn really blocking out on the d boards. i look for them to find their mark shooting 3s in the second half.
Tigers looking tough so far.

This looks like all of Auburn's previous games...sluggish but a close game at the half, then they light it up from 3 to start the 2nd half. Let's see if Virginia or the dome changes that. You know Auburn will be launching.

What am I missing? Kenny Smith said Viriginia usually has 5 or 6 more possessions. How is that possible? Did they institute the make it take it rule?

Announcer A: "Virginia's defense never lets up. They can shut you down at any time. OH, LOOK! Jerome scores again!!

Knew AUB would come out and smack Virginia. I always figured whoever came out of the Midwest would be in the Final because of the level of competition. Virginia struggled against a meh Oregon team. That's one thing I didn't get after our loss. It sucked and I too think we should have won, but some acted as we lost to a garbage team instead of a team that had almost as bad as a start as us early in the year against Dook, but made a game out of it and stream rolled TN, KU and UNC. AUB has a great backcourt and that is a great thing to have in the tourney.

Plus they don't say it's hard to beat a team 3 times in one year for nothing. Still, think we should have won, but AUB is for real and playing better BB than anyone in the country. Plus if those 3s start falling in the second half as they did against us Virginia is in trouble. They still have work to do, but I wouldn't be shocked to see an AUB vs TT final this year.

Dam they do need to drop a 3 though. Can't buy one. I figured if AUB made 8 3s they would beat Virginia with how slow Virginia plays.

2 thoughts:

1) Watching these teams play and we will look back on this as perhaps the biggest missed opportunity of the Cal era to win another title. And that’s saying a a lot.

2) VA does the best job of preventing fast break points that I’ve ever seen

Auburn can't throw it in the ocean. Harper not playing with his head at all.

TT vs UVA would be a matchup of probably the 2 best defenses in the country.

Auburn needs to try to play their game helter skelter instead of walking the ball up the court. They will lose if they continue to play like this. Carnival barker Pearl needs to get his head out of *** and make some adjustments.

Auburn can't win playing this way. UVA getting high percentage shots, and Auburn bombing 3s late in the clock. But, I think if they had Okeke, it would be a different story. I think they'd be winning.

Took a total team effort from the staff on down for UK to lose to this Auburn team. Other than being quicker they had no advantages over the Cats.
