God what a time to be moved up to 4A.
My Asheville cougars would have a good chance to make a run in 3a (where we’ve been for decades) with our 1,100 students with pisgah as the one seed! That’s crazy. As it stands we will play davie county with 700 more students than us with the opportunity to play butler or mallard creek that has 1,000+ students than us

Sorry bro. We moved up to 3A and honestly it's not as crowded as 2A is this year.
What's crazy about that pisgah loss is David crocket really isnt even that good. They would get pounded by half the teams in this bracket.
Pisgah being the 1 seed is crazy to me. They may jump me for this but they are the worst 1 seed I have ever seen in 3A.
They were in a dogfight with 1-8 East Henderson
Very lucky to beat 4-6 tuscola

Lost by 14 to 6-4 David Crockett in TN
And the craziest one to me, they couldnt score 30 points against Enka.
their record is 9-1, and anybody is happy to have a 1 seed but they are the 1 seed and there are teams in this bracket that would beat them by 30

You don’t have to feel bad, that’s gonna happen when you’re playing schools literally double your size. You guys have a 9-1 record. Those numbers deserve a 1 seed, I’m just stating my opinion that this particular pisgah team is nowhere near what you typically see as a 1 seed in the playoffs. It’s not their fault they got the 1 seed. Hell I’d like to have it!
According to the Simmons ratings, pisgah is the 28th best team in 3A, but the 1 seed.
The 121st ranked team overall in NC, but a 1
seed.
Again, not their fault.
As for my cougars, I wish we were still in 3A where we have been for decades with just over 1,000 students. Gonna be hard to compete EVER with schools that have 2,500+ students, just as it would for any school with 1,100 students

Yea he makes it sound like they’re gonna make some deep run. At least when we get our *** beat it’s gonna be by a school with double our enrollment.

Nah. Getting rid of Sub divisions was needed. Now maybe they should have added a 5A. But the old format was the most watered down mess I've ever seen.
Ardrey kell literally has 3 times the students Asheville and Reynolds do and we are in the same bracket
I personally like 3 classes which would eliminate alot of split conferences then subdivide for playoffs which would give you 6 State Champions.
So what TN did was add two classifications, that way you get the same number of championships and helps keep those larger cities with huge admissions/attendance at the very top. I think more classifications make it fair across the state. At the same time though, there are counties in NC that need multiple high schools and don't have them.
Watauga, for example, if they built another high school, you may have one 2A and one 3A or two 2A schools, which is realistically where Watauga should be. But because its a one school county, they're competing against the biggest.
First DaviD Crockett high school has 1200 students ,you know a little more than those with 1000 + students you don't think you should play .Second Pisgah never got beat by a small 1A school like Asheville did.

There are still some good teams but not as many as in 2A West. There is like 7 teams I could see coming out of 2A West.
The schools voted down having five classification last year.Wonder how Asheville and Reynolds voted?
Ardrey Kell has some of the best resources in the State, along with Southmeck. Today! Their the largest schools in the State. They’ve been top 5 High Schools enrollment for almost a decade. Traditionally, has not translated on the Football field.Colquitt County out of Georgia has been destroying larger enrollment schools for decades. Especially much larger schools in Atlanta. Their Nationally ranked every year. Sometimes it has more to do with quality of numbers and football tradition, versus one school having more enrollment numbers. High enrollment does not always equate to success on the field.
True, we lost to a school with 400 students this year. However, classifications exist because typically the school with 3,000 students has the advantage over a school with 500.
We had so many injuries in that game our kicker was playing on the offensive line. Literally lol
Don’t make excuses about losing a game due to injuries. Pisgah has 6 starters out for the season, 5 with ACLs, and 1 with a broken leg. Injuries started at David Crockett. Had 2 ACLs on the same play at THS. And we had 1 starting WR that had an emergency appendectomy, and was out for one game, then didn’t practice all week before the THS game. Came back the day of the game, and blocked the the last ditch THS field goal attempt that won the game. Our coaches have done a great job shuffling players to new positions, and bringing up JVs too. We may not have scored as much as YOU would have wanted against some teams, but I’ll take 9-1 all day, every day, with the adversity that we have had this season.
Pisgah was number 1 a few years back and got beat in the 1st round. I have always respected Pisgah's program but have never understood why the computers love them so much?
No idea. We do know that more wins in the playoffs will bring more respect for Pisgah. I did think, that in the three way scrimmage at the beginning of the year, we matched up with Hibriten very well.
