Just curious why is 4 years enough for Levi but it would be a travesty if a younger wrestler gets displaced for a year and thus only gets 4 years in starting lineup?

Admittedly I’m torn on what I want to happen but I wouldn’t say Levi had enough years. He’s been a great wrestler and individual and if he wants to comeback to NCAA it’s open arms from me.
Well, if Levi comes back it seems MM is back to 165 and most think PJ might be the odd man out. A big challenge would be putting on the weight needed, but as other worldly as is Levi, I don't think PJ winning the 174 shot is entirely out of the question. Don't sell PJ short, he's a year older smarter and better and is arguably one of the greatest recruits we have ever had. We all view MM as untouchable, but PJ could make the run for 165 as well. He got "Robbed" last year.

The Black Knight Invite could be a wrestle off for the Hodge trophy

Seems to me if Levi is back the best lineup would include Pj, MM, and Levi. Perhaps Levi challenges Rocco.

I'm assuming Levi is looking to bulk up to 84kg for '28, but does he fare any better than Rocco at 184 right now? Him or MM is a huge favorite at 174 (a much weaker weight class) but McEnelly is really good, and really big for 184 (as are Sinclair and Ferrari). This is also assuming Duke doesn't have to Bouzakis his way to 157 again.

I'm with a few others; it's almost like Haines not getting the extra year is best for the team long term.

Agree if the decision is made soon having Levi back in college wrestling is a good thing. But if it gets decided in December my opinion is you just go with the guys you've. They probably have a date in mind that if they don't have an answer by Levi is just gonna move on .
I know its the NCAA but they wouldn't leave it linger until december could they… feel like they have to have attorneys telling them thats a bad idea !!!!

The NCAA isn't making anyvdecisions based on two wrestlers. Only criteria are football, basketball, and litigation. And it's too late for a football decision.

I was just going to say that. This is about football and basketball. Football season will be over for the most part by December.

Agreed .... wrestling is not what is motivating the NCAA but with the legal issues they have going on in football right now.... You wouldnt think they want to add to any of this?

Didn't even realize I did that 😂. Im 52 and just type and never look back at it 🤷 and I'm usually on my phone which makes it worse since it just types whatever it wants at times . And no I'm not fixing it 😁

Levi and Mendez: Yes or no?

I am REALLY hating this off season more each day.
Mendez is currently eligible under the Ohio governor's executive order. But the NCAA has sued to block that now. Outcome TBD.

Nothing has changed as it relates to Haines. He's still not named in any eligibility-related court cases at the state or federal level. That means his path to return depends entirely on the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals' ruling on the Colorado court decision that gave a blanket waiver to all Class of 2022 athletes to return for one extra year before an appeal reversed it.

The 10th Circuit has heard arguments. It could make a ruling at any time. So far, it's not.

What is giving them an additional headache is the ohio governor saying mendez is eligible

The longer it takes the more likely for a over turn of the appeal. If they agreed with the appeal it wouldn't take very long ,now they have to have reasons to over rule it.
