It's a mild challenge reconciling my desire for UNC to go winless every year w/ the negative impact it has on the real person in the role of coach. Plus, if I guy is worth firing due to losses, I'd much rather he stick around.

Rams Club says your time is up, its up. As much as I would like to see him stay (love them losing), coughing up double digit millions means nothing to the old money RCers....

When you know what freezes over my friend! Hey did you hear about Saban leaving Bama for Chapel Hill???? He said he wanted a break from big-time college football!!!

fired and still will collect 12m. almost as bad as what ND had to pay that fat coach who wasn't worth a crap they had a few years ago. Weiss, I think. Seems to me there ought to be a performance clause in these big contracts. Weiss and Fedora are living examples of this.

Cheat somewhere else, get caught doing it and UNC hires you and gives you big bucks. Cheat at UNC, get caught and they spend a fortune to protect you and stand by you. Your players embarrass the university by vandalizing an opponent's facilities? No problem, UNC pays the damages. Lose some games? Outta here schmuck!!

And bringing half the Alabama team with him. I do believe they are willing to spend what it takes to get a big name in chapel hill no matter what baggage he brings with him. Integrity and character left unc a long time ago. Bobby Patrino. Perfect fit. OFC
As much as a flake as Petrino is, I think he is too level headed and has too high of character to be eligible for the UNx job.

You are probably right PixielDevil. I would like to know who you guys think should lead the heels into being the university everyone wants to play for. I though about Butch Davis coming back but he's probably pissed about getting fired. How about Urban Meyer. Despite winning up at Ohio St. he still may lose his job because of what his asst. coach did. unc just wants to win and they are willing to pay Meyer's price and what goes on behind closed doors no one knows. There is a new Carolina way.

This is a side bar comment but how many of you remember back a few years ago when those two tar heel football players got tied up somehow and ended up getting assaulted by two females. It's been a while but I think charges were filed and after that I never heard a word. Never heard who the players were either. Strange place The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. OFC

That's the name that is floating around. I would say if he wants it the job is his. How old is Mac not that it matters. OFC
Just checked. He's 67. Saban, Meyer and Coach Cut all in the 60's and of course Coach K in his 70's. If you still have the energy to coach and recruit why not. I imagine if Mack did come back he would completely change the staff. OFC

I liked his offense. With good players, it was a lot of fun to watch. Unfortunately, he didn't seem to be able to recruit enough good players to keep winning with it after the inherited players moved on.
